Post My review of the G5 Logitech mouse.
It's the F*CKIN' shit. It's actions are smooth and sweet, like sex! So, if you get this mouse, it'll be like having sex with fps games!

The ability to adjust the weight is just awesome. I recommend this mouse to anyone and everyone.

Weedman said it ran <$80, and as far as the error I'm pretty sure I read something about that conflict on the vent site, I think there's some patch or something.

g5 is 20 bucks more and you aren't getting anything more on that than you are the 518, the mx series is proven much more reliable and has been rated one of the top mouses by all spectrums of computer users (mainly gamers). the 518 maxes at 1600 dpi and the g5 maxes at 2000dpi but when it comes to games (especially CS) the different in terms of movement and precision between 2000 and 1600 is so unnoticeable and pointless, just waisting an extra 20 bucks

whats with all the negativity?

first off the G5 is a highly customizable mouse with the DPI settings, the custom weight settings, and the software is slightly more customizable than the 518.

Second, G5 is a laser mouse while the 518 is an optical mouse, laser is supposed to be more precise.

Third, the acceleration on the G5 is 20g while the 518 is 15g a noticeable difference and takes some getting used to.

Fourth, the G5 has 500 USB reports/second while the 518 has 125 USB reports/second which means its response time is incredibly faster than the 518.

Fifth, the 518 has a problem because the sleep setting is too low and enters sleep mode too quickly, so when your camping with an awp for a while and someone comes around the corner you move your mouse and it has to come out of sleep mode.

Sixth, the G5 has 6.4 megapixel/second image processing while the 518 has 5.8 megapixel/second image processing.

Seventh, G5 has a tilt wheel, something i look forward to, although i've never seen a 518, i've never heard anyone mention a tilt wheel on the 518 although i may be mistaken.

8th, There is something i'm forgetting....

still think there is no difference? The G5 is clearly superior. Logitech took in a lot of feedback from gamers before and after the 518 and were able to produce the G5, the ultimate mouse IMO.

BTW, the G5 is $10 more than the 518, i think its worth it. I suggest buying it from here (free shipping):

G5 $55.99

518 $45

tilt wheel... the wheel not only scrolls up and down but also scrolls left to right. although sadly it does not work in firefox unless they fixed it.

Well, I'm just looking at the picture and I can't figure out how it would rotate left-right...it IS the same wheel as the normal scroll one right?

lol i meant it moves left and right not really turns or rolls like it does up and down... u can tilt it left and right and if the application you are using has a horizontal scroll bar it will move accordingly (except firefox). sorry i'm really tired.

I though long and hard about that mouse, but I came to the conclusion that I want a Razor Copperhead.

It will match perfectly with that new G15 Keyboard I have my eye on.

The keyboard I really want would cost me a nut, but its still nice to drool over.

Have a look for yourself.

Good choice on the mouse and keyboard though Strange. I like them both.
