I am very embarrased to ask...but, I've finally met my match, I can't remove this broswer highjacker I've been getting, so therefore, I could use some help.

K so basically, when I start up it goes to my homepage and all, but when I go to any random websites, it'll redirect my IE explorer to one of several pr0n sites, which then try to load malicious software, or to a blank page.

Anyone with any advice besides "OMG REINSTALL YOUR BROWSERER" can help.

It's spread across both my browsers too, it's affecting firefox and IE explorer.

I don't know how it got past FireFox. Nothing gets past my fox, not even pop ups. The only thing i can recomend is Registry cleaners, Spyware removers, and Antivirus scan.

get SPYBOT and see what comes up and then we can figure out what to do from there i had this problem with about:blank and it was gay but i eventually got rid of it

and if you really want to get rid of it just reformat that shit but use that as a last resort

Gosh, everyone just assumes I have a windows XP install disk laying around.

Spybot doesn't pick up anything, Adaware doesn't pick up anything, Spyware doctor doesn't pick up anything, Highjackthis! doesn't show anything abnormal, BHO Demon isn't showing any weird BHOs.

The only thing I haven't tried is Microsoft anti-spyware, which I'm doing now.

wow good job getting owned well then check where your home page is set where do you have it set to also delete your cookies and temp internet files also go and restore your browser defaults... also look up giant spyware remover it works pretty good from what i hear but i dont think its free but it might be free just to run it to see what is on your computer that you will need to fix

I use trojan hunter and spy sweeper and they seem to work just fine for me, if you need help IM me and i'll help hook you up

It probably changed all your DNS settings that are hosted locally on your computer... that's probably why it's doing it in both firefox and internet explorer. Let me do some searching to figure out just what that file is and i'll post the info here.

The page wouldn't load all the way so I hit ESC... then I hit reply and let it half-assed load to type in my reply.

It wasn't til I walked away and the page had loaded with my post on it that I noticed that the problem had been solved... THEN i was disconnected.
