Has anyone with HL2 gotten this message while playing game.

"The Instruction at 0x####### referenced memory at 0x#######. The memory could not be read."

I've played this f**king game all the way to chapter titled Our Benefactor,
which is the second to last chapter, and now I start getting this f**king
error.

I've been trying to fix this sh*t for a week now, that's why I haven't been
playing CS lately.

I've tried most of the fixes that I've found on the Steam website.

I've gotten to the point, that I figured wtf. I reformatted the partion where
I have my Steam files, and reinstalled Steam and all the f**king mods I
have for it.

Anyway, I started playing again from the begining to see if that sh*t
happens again. I didn't want to use the saved files just in case they are
corrupt.

If anyone can help, I'd be extremely grateful.

System specs? Sounds like you ran out of memory.

Don't think so, I've got 1 gig of ram.

It says in the Steam forum, that if you have two sticks to take one out and
try it out. Still no dice, I removed 1 512 mem stick and still kept getting
the same message.

If you think of anything else Super let me know plz.

run msconfig and uncheck anything you dont need, or can start manually (aim, yim, msn just to name a few)

Yeah and any detailed backdrop, get rid of it, it can also increase virtual memory.
