 Help me find a new sound cardses!So, I'm looking to buy a new sound card today. My x-fi took a shit and I'm using my pcie addon x-fi backup for now. I'd like to hear some recommendations. First, there's a couple things you might know but might not, so I'll get right on it...
1. It can't be a Sound Blaster card. F*CK Creative Labs. Their drivers are horrible, period. I've been using their cards for about 10 years, and I guarantee you won't find a card I haven't tried from them that doesn't blow dick. 2. I make music. This means that I'm looking for higher-end cards, so that means F*CK Turtle Beach as well. This also means F*CK USB headsets. Ultimately, I'd like to be able to allow music through Ventrilo without needing a looped cable to achieve it. 3. I'm a gamer, so obviously, EAX would be nice with Dolby support out of the box. I'm looking at the Xonar models from ASUS, as almost everything on my system is ASUS, including my monitor... but I'm seeing some compatibility issues with Win 7 x64 drivers. Can anyone confirm this? Keep in mind that I'm looking to do music too on a recording level hertz, So that means if it doesn't support 49 or 41.8 khz, F*CK it. May sound like a lot, but I know someone out there has a good answer! |

Re: Help me find a new sound cardses! Well, I haven't dove into the professional audio section, but I'm pretty much leaning towards Xonar's D2X. I was looking at Auzentech, but a lot of their stuff is either discontinued, or strictly for gaming.

Good chip so I can play CT and rock playing like you guys.. No more 25 FTP..should have it done by next week.. It's a 1 gig readion high pro Bull.. It's pci express 2.. Big card.. Looks cool.. Re: Help me find a new sound cardses! Actually, after Hooker, Bleep, and I discussed some audio stuff over Ventrilo, at least 2/3 of us were pretty set with this as the biggest/baddest/awesomest sound card on the market right now...
EDIT: Forgot to add the addon card supports 100% analog audio. GG and TRUE DD Surround. |

Re: Help me find a new sound cardses! I would recommend a high-end HT|O card. I agree that creative's drivers are shitty, and have found these to be a good alternate.
Plus, I've gotten this card replaced twice for free since buying it 3 1/2 years ago. |
