 Re: [n00b] Ncaa Football Rankings
well first off Arkansas > LSU...
and second a playoff would never work because all the SEC and Big 10 teams would just end up palying each other year after year. the BCS is around to keep the rest of the country interested in college football IMHO.
as for top 10 this year i cant really say because preseason guesses are a crap shoot anyway. give it till week 3-4 then lets have a poll

 Re: [n00b] Ncaa Football Rankings
Yeah I hate these bullshit polls at the beginning. The whole reason Boise state and tcu had so much attention was all their hype. Look at both of their schedules and then look at a SEC or big 10 schedule and you tell me who has the hardest schedule. I have a bad feeling tcu and Boise are going to be ranked high again just cause of hype and we will hear the same conversations this whole year and Boise will still not be in the bcs chamionship cause it will be an SEC team and some other team

Hito U Make an excellent point! That's Why A Playoff System Would be A Great Addition to College Football..... That Way Boise,Tcu,Stanford and other Schools that Lack in the power rating have a Chance to be a National Champ. The Playoff system is implemented in every sport at every level except College Football. Which raise the ? Why, And How fair it is to every School/Football Program that competes on the collegiate level?

 Re: [n00b] Ncaa Football Rankings
My post wasn't meant to be a post about playoffs and stuff. The reason College Football is how it is is because of how many teams and how physical a game is. In Baseball and other sports you have time to play 3 games or so a week but when it comes to football and the physical demand of the game and the skill level of 119 schools. in the NFL they have I believe 26 teams and almost every team plays a good team 5 out of how many times they play. Thus that's why playoffs work good. you only have 14 weeks for teams to play in college and if you wanted to make it like every other sport, you would be extending the college footbal season well beyond where it is today which = more injuries of star players which is what is the debate with the NFL about more games. By the time you get to the end of the season, a College football team won't look like how it did at the beginning because you will be on ur second or even ur third string quarterback by the time we get to the playoffs. So truthfully it wouldn't be all about skill it would be about stratagy, about recruiting better 2nd and third string people then truely focusing on ur play makers.

 Re: [n00b] Ncaa Football Rankings
All are valid Points....... And could all be worked around in one way or another. Here's my point, Think of this in college Basketball 64 Teams Make it to March-Madness.now in college football 68 teams Play in Bowl Games...... March madness lasts three weeks the bowl games last Three weeks...... So U extend the season By as much as 4 games including the championship game u just took the top 16 Programs instead of the top 10 and gave em a shot at being the champs.... With that being said it seems the BCS systems soul propose is to exploit Amateur Athletes and there schools for there talents/services For $$$$$$ Giving as little back to schools, community's and athletes as possible... that's Why If Ur not a big money school and U have a great Program U play in one of the lesser bowls {aka} not for the Championship. Cause Ur school will not bring the Money/attention into the Major Bowl Game System as A Major University's Program Will... That my friend is were the system is corrupt....... Because its not The opponents u Play in the strength of Ur schedule or the Talent U have its all about the money and which teams can produce the Best return on there investment in these 5 games Rose Bowl Orange Bowl Sugar Bowl Cotton Bowl Gator Bowl

 Re: [n00b] Ncaa Football Rankings
To be honest OU should be no.1. A&M should be set near 7 or lower, OSU should be in the top 10, oregon in the top 10. stanford yes. This doesn't seem logical. Texas?!?! REALLY!?!?! after a 5-7 year, even with their new recruits, there are 24 other teams that are better than them. They should not be ranked pre season. TCU lost alot, Ohio State might get hurt missing stars from the first 3 games, and Tressel for some conference games. All I know is OU-1, and A&M and OSU are in the top 10 in my book. I don't know how to feel about LSU, their offense is...weird. Granted they always have a good D.

Also all the teams somebody liste about OU being number 1 and shit, first question... Why? Again most of what they are is hype. All the "good teams" are hype based. People say this team and that time is good and they get destroyed in games.

Urban Meyer even admitted to it. that may be true, but you have to look at the games they do play. if were going by the pre season polls on eapn 8 of 12 teams from the SEC are in the top 25. that makes for one hell of a hard season. whos to blame a team for wanting to get 1 or 2 games in where their not fighting against a nationally ranked team. if where using the SEC as an example, 5-6 of their games are going to be against 'ranked' opponents. other teams like Boise and TCU,granted great programs, maybe play 1-2 ranked teams all year... i dont think its that the top teir school 'won't' play them, i think its more 'whats the point' of playing them. they dont need the stats, keep in mind 5 of the last 6 years the National Champion has been an SEC school. BUT, i am glad all those teams, Boise, Organ St., and TCU will be playing against better competition this year due to the massive reshuffling of conferences brought on by last years arguments on this exact subject. so honestly this year is a toss up. And yes, i am very biased towards the SEC cause i went to school at an SEC school
