There's an issue with a lot of the 360's that's going to happen tomorrow. Apparently, the disc drives will not read with some models after the new dashboard update. I would steer clear of consoles for now. Also PS3 Network website was just url-string-hacked today. Should tell you a bit about going with a PC vs console.

On the subject of a PC then, I had done some research on AMD vs. Intel, and had come to the conclusion that either an X4 black edition AMD or an X6 black edition, even though 6 cores is a bit overkill, I figure it will last me a while. From what I had read, (granted this was a while ago, because I have been planning this forever, I just need funds...which hopefully is this summer) was that an AMD processor was better than a intel at the moment. When I look at the two, I want to see which will last longer, perform better etc. So for all of these qualities, would you suggest an I5 or I7 intel? or an AMD x4 or x6? Also I was looking at AMD because price for performance wise, they are cheaper. I can build an AMD pc for 200-400 dollars less.

Not that it really matter anymore because most games get ported over to PC from Consoles.
