Only a week till I close on my house which means new internet, yay!

It's 2GB up: But it's limited to 100GB/month...I don't even know how much info runs through CSS or other games, like Rift (my wife still plays) or what about PS3 games. Anyone have any idea on how long it'd take to eat up 100GB? I've been known to play for 60-80 hours a week sometimes when I get on long stints.

You are very unlikly going to get 2gb of info just playing.. its ganna take some time unless you downloed a lot of maps - I work for a internet company just watch the music downloeads that wil take a lot of your data..

Your upload is limited to 100g? or combined up/down? or just down?

If you're not running torrents you pretty much have nothing to worry about. CS sips bandwidth, and I suspect most multiplayer games are similar.

It's the torrents that you forget about and leave running while 1000 people suck your bandwidth that's gonna get ya. Or Pandora streaming more often than not. That kind of stuff.

I get 50gb/5days at school - and I rarely run anywhere near that.

I do a lot of pandora streaming, downloading steam games and online play. Any form of limiting on bandwidth and I'd be pretty pissed though. I wouldn't get that internet just to say F*CK you to them for doing it. They don't need to limit it - honestly they're only throttling internet to get money from people who don't use it.

I've transmitted 78GB so far this month, but that's with 5-6 computers in the house all F*CKING around online, netflix on the xbox and on pc's, AND I've torrented about 15GB worth of stuff in the last couple days.

You should be FINE @ 100 GB.

p.s. a "cap" is a limit on speed, and a "meter" is a limit on the amount of traffic you've passed over a period of time

Wait a moment! 2GB bandwidth? Is your new house located near NASA labs or NSA data center and you’re leaking connection from them?

Anyhow – check with your current provider if they have any sort of statistics of bandwidth usage. Also check with your new provider what are the fees for exceeding the limitation.
Games by itself shouldn’t be an issue. Netflix eats lots of bandwidth.

Are there even home routers that can support 2GB/s traffic? I thought Cat 6 cable is only rated up to 1000Mb/s or 1GB/s, and there's nothing higher available for the consumer market.

Cat6 is used for 10GBASE-T. Good luck finding an affordable 10Gb NIC for your PC :P

Both of the above statements are not quite 100% correct. Gig-certified Cat5e can do 1Gbps, and Cat6 can do 10gbps but it was designed for 1Gbps initially.

Additionally, if you have a dual Gigabit NIC setup, you could potentially throw out 2GBPS up/down if they are bridged to the same connection. It depends if you use modems that are low docsis version (ie: 1.0) as compared to the newer standard (docsis 3.0). Docsis 3.0 will allow multiple streams up/down.
