Well let me share a little tidbit then,

some time ago, i was having a bad day in the server. yeah, they dont happen often, but this was a day i just was not F*CKING around. So all was going good, i had a positive score for once and felt like i just might turn my day around....

then this kid DeadManRunning joines the server....and TKs me from a prefire in inferno. this was not a oopse TK, this was a oh shit you fucked up TK. so now that im set off, i rage a bit off mic and then threaten to set him on fire. He did the digital equivalent of bending over and shoving the neck of a gascan up his ass while he waited for me to light a match.

so i set that F*CKER on fire, and something which i was not expecting happened. instead of him raging over admin abuse, DMR was making me lol hard. Ever since, ive been setting him on fire at every turn and love the reaction i get. Better yet, he took it like a champ and turned what would make most ragers rage over the mic, into something the server could laugh at. it was because of this that we so love him now....(chocolate covered...*blank* *blankers*)

It was a proud day when i saw DMR get his membership, and eventualy his admin, but never once was i suprised or doubtful of his abilities. i can say that DMR set a new standard for rct's to follow.

although i really cant set him on fire anymore (im a big stickler for respect of admins, even from other admins) i might put a match to your ass for old times sake.

Thanks guys. It's nice to know that while I've benefited from being here, I've also made some happy moments for you as well. And Turkey, though you may not singe the hairs off my ass as much as you once did, I may take it upon myself to use this method on current and future recruits, along with myself and others.

Aside from the n00bfest part of things, which I feel is extremely important to have friends in your life... I think your education should ALWAYS COME FIRST.

So let's get down to it.
Why are you failing out?

Second, it's obvious you're having a tough time in life. We all do, but it doesn't give us reason to give up or quit on ourselves. That being said, SEEK COUNSELING NOW. It'll go an extremely long way in the end. It's surprising how much just talking to someone who can help will do for you. The trick to it is that you've got to open up and say every single thing. Even the things that you swear you'd never tell anyone. Once you've opened up, you can begin to answer life's little questions by having a counselor help you find out who you are and what you can be. Maybe you don't need someone to help you with that, but what's the worst that can happen -- you learn more about yourself?

After you've done a few counseling sessions, your grades will go up. If you have to, pay for a tutor. All that weed you smoke (weed is a metaphor for anything you do with your money that isn't worth it) with that money you have could buy you a tutor or get you some extra lessons to help you with your education.

Talk to your dean/school counselor. Ask them what YOU can do for yourself, and what THEY can do for YOU.
Take action. Stick to it, and stay strong and positive, and you'll get through all of it. DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR FUTURE.

I've been trying my best with my classes and everything, but I'm just not doing very well. Tried studying for extended periods of time, didn't do anything. I've gone to the learning center and actually spoken with instructors, especially with my computer science classes, but it doesn't get me anywhere, not to mention our CS learning center is a joke. 1 coach to help out 8 to 10 people, and sticks with one person for about half an hour or longer. There's also the chance that I may have a learning disability. I'm going to look into where I can get that checked out, cause I know there isn't a place in my area for that sorta thing.

With that said, I've been thinking that maybe I was just trying in the wrong area, and maybe I'm suited for something else. I'm gonna use the time I'm not in college to think about what I should do, and then get back on my feet with things. I won't be giving up, just taking time to collect myself and get on the right path, or at least as close to it as I can get.

College may not be your thing, you're still young and figuring out things about yourself, Hell I'm 27 and every couple of years I seem to change my career path. It's all about what makes you happy. If staying in school and spending long nights studying makes you completely miserable, you might want to talk to someone about changing your career.
Think about things you like to do if you were retired, then see if there is a way you can do whatever that is to make money! That's just one strategy, unfortunately there is no manual for life. Everyone has to choose their own path, and what is right for one person can be completly wrong for another.
Do what makes you happy, don't waste your life walking a path others want you to do. ♥

I've been in n00bfest for a pretty long time, but ur one of the guys who has never annoyed me. you've got a good attitude, which makes you fun to play with.

i'm on the sam boat as you really. life is tough, but n00bfest is like a second family. i might not be as good at this game as hackswonder or hackstrosbudsmoka, but i enjoy playing here because of the n00b butt loving that i can only get here. I may disappear for months at a time here and there, whether it's for wow, school or work, but i always come back cus i kno n00bfest will welcome me back with open arms.

like others have said. do what makes you happy. it's not about a job or a career. find your vocation and enjoy it.

Haha I agree with all of that, I had only started playing CSS this winter and came across the exact same thing when I got on. People bitching to each other and vulgarity up the wahzoo. Best part of all of it was the admin abuse on random nooby people who would join the server and bitch back!

DeadManRunnin. I agree with acid_rain about the 'talking to someone' thing, but it's important that whoever you talk to asks you the right questions.

An example: When you were growing up, what sort of things did you tend to do in your spare time outside of playing freeze tag or watching movies (the activity stuff that could be considered work) and what of it did you enjoy, and what of it on a more sophisticated line has interested you for the longest time and you could say you find enjoyment in?

Sometimes you have to make your own path and maybe you just need to get started by doing something 'similar' to what you have in mind even if you don't know what that thing is on the end of things. But sometimes there are things that work for you and that you're a natural fit for and you don't know it because you never thought of doing those things as a career. Maybe those activities or interests are more of a jumping off point and perhaps you know of a career path (with or without college, but some form of education even if it's just hands-on training to start) but you don't think it's viable or you don't know how to get to that point. Start somewhere. Even if you don't want to do that thing your entire life, just do the closest approximation of that, and if you want to do more than one thing, the same thing goes.

Most of life is a grind. College is a grind...there are those who move ahead with seemingly little effort. You need to grind it out.....most people drop out or switch to basket weaving or some other useless degree. Man up or Grandpa is going to come to your house and kick your ass. Its a grind...for most of us grind it out...do the work, work , work ,work. You can do it water boy!

Thanks guys. For now I'm going to just finish what's left of the semester before I begin to think on what to do for the long term future, or at least part of it. The only other thing doing right now is getting an appointment so I can be given a referral for testing to see if I have some sort of learning disability. My dad had one so I wouldn't be surprised if I have one, but who knows.

awww ♥ deadman i havent really seen you on steam friends much. I guess i just miss you when you get off or something. But it was always fun to talk to you and see you rambling on you made me lol quite a few times while talkn to you about random stuff. Just keep at it... you can do it! and if you cant well you can do it allllll night long :D but keep up with this semester and see where u want to go from there over the summer.
