 Re: Bottled water
bottled water = waste of money unless your tap is not puriffied. If you are really worried about it buy a water filter for your sink.

 Re: Bottled water
wait... let me sum up every argument in here about water.... water = water no matter where it comes form.. and.. ZOMG.. PEOPLE DIE?.. holy.. that right there is an epiphany to end all epiphanies.... or not.
I love kids who only drink bottled water because "it tastes better" How about you we put you in the middle of hte desert with no supplies for a week and see what you drink then. The fluoride debate is hilarious.. yes it can be detrimental if your plant is stupid but 99.9% of the time its safe. Honestly you guys waste too much time crying over the simplest things (zomg, x kills 16 people every year we shoudl stop doing it) and not enough time doing productive things.

 Re: Bottled water
also RE: the plastic causing cancer, it depends on the tyep of plastic as KC said, and it also takes a while. I usually get about 3 weeks of refilling an aquafina bottle or whateveR I buy before I can taste a bad difference then i just throw it out. You'd have to be a dumb F*CKER not to taste it, because it tastes god awful

 Re: Bottled water
Yeah the taste is pretty awful. I normally just use gatorade bottles or like sobe bottles for refilling because they're a much thicker plastic.

 Re: Bottled water
Sorry I'm late on this, but I HATE tap water. I can taste the chlorine, metal and mineral content, and sometimes it makes me feel sick. As long as there has been some type of decent filtration to the water I like it. I have a water cooler and refill my 5 gallon bottles for $0.25 a gallon at the machine in front of my local Walgreens. Tastes a thousand times better than tap water in my area.
My new job is in water treatment, so more and more of the chemical, metal, mineral, etc. contents and such are making sense to me, and I am learning how to treat it for use (not necessarily for human consumption). Check back with me in 6 months for some knowledge :)

 Re: Bottled water
I have well water, no addititives, clean as F*CK to the point where Poland Spring tried to buy the rights to my water table. All other tap water can suck a dick.

 Re: Bottled water
bottled water is actually cleaner because it is run through filters.....so you can buy one for your sink, but the huge companys like coke and pepsi have nice filtration systems which is why everyone says dasani and aqaufina taste better then tap....its been filtered so many times its pure water, much better for you than city water

 Re: Bottled water
Probably the tastiest water i can get when refilling my water bottle is from the fountain soda machines. Tap water is good around here anyway, but i still enjoy it.

 Re: Bottled water
The downside to bottled water is the amount of fresh water that goes into making the plastic and the price. The downside to in-home filtration is also the amount of waste that goes into making the filters. It'd be more efficient in the long run for municipalities on the whole to devise better water treatment/management faculties.

 Re: Bottled water
it'd be better if we had clean sources of water to start with, which begins with properly handling and treating our waste. the problem is no one wants to spend the money or take the time to do that.
