 Election Time in Canada!
So to all the Canadian n00bies on here are you guys all excited about the election? I am, I can't wait to vote and help form a new and better government then the shit we just had. If those Tories make back in then we are all fucked, unless your one of the super rich then your ok since they work for you but if your not well just bend over now and start lubing up.

 Re: Election Time in Canada!
key concept for this election: voter turnout is probably going to be shit. we dont' need 4 elections in 7 years let alone a $300 million one during the middle of a recession. Good work ottawa and every political figure who wants to put thier agenda ahead of getting along.

 Re: Election Time in Canada!
99% of politicians above the state and local level (most on the state level too), are full of shit. The same goes for Provincial and Canadian parliament. GL HF and hope you have a Ron or Rand Paul-type person who cares about the people and wants to rip the government apart beyond what the people really want.

F*CK the Green party. Jack Layton is a joke in my opinion. I always feel like he's trying to sell me a used car. I voted Conservative last election, but they have done some pretty stupid shit *cough* G7 Summit *cough*...

 Re: Election Time in Canada!
Well, Harper only did one good thing for us and that was rejecting the UBB, pretty much, I doubt he will do anything useful.
I'm not going to even touch Liberal at all, I don't F*CKING trust Torie at all.

Good work ottawa and every political figure who wants to put thier agenda ahead of getting along. Elections bring to the government a shit ton of money back. It's not directly related, but just think about it. When you go vote, maybe you will meet one of your friends, then go drink some beer with him after that, maybe you'll have to pay for gaz on the way back home, maybe you'll think about going to the supermarket since you had to go downtown to vote. $300 million isn't much of a big deal in the Canada's depts. Dieus wrote: I'm probably voting for NPD which is lol but better than Liberal and Conserve. I might be stuck with this idea too. The big thing is, Harper only cares about what happens in Lybia. This whole "Let's go fight for their freedom" shit is only to protect his gaz companies (petro-can, huskyoil, etc.) that pay him during the elections. Petro-Can is tired to pay Kadhafi for his bullshit of nationalization of Petro-Can in his country. That is why I just don't want to vote for Harper right now, he's doing what he has to do to keep his powers, but that's it. There's no more interests than keeping Petro-Can alive (and HuskyOil). As for conserve, I also voted for them last year, but it was because they made it to sell me all their bullshit. Now that I've followed the news from last year to today, I know what they really intend to do, as long as the liberals. The raise of the scholar fees, the big F*CKING bullshit about the F-35 twice maybe three times more expensive than they thought, and so more. NPD it will be for me because I just don't see the point of voting for conservative or liberal. I don't think that the elections will be so much of a big deal, but I don't think it was necessary either... at least not right now.

Cyning of Scedenig wrote: Doesnt really matter who the president is, the bankers run your country :P Wow, you know so little about Canada. Our banks are tightly controlled by the governement, so that's why our banks are so stable, they don't have the ability to do dumb shit like all the other countries did. When I mean tightly controlled, it's to the point the government can step in and remove CEO's since the banks are not privately owned up here and there assests are both protected and insured by the government of Canada. I will never ever vote Tory! Our worst Prime Ministers in Canadian history have all been Tory. Diefenbaker and Mulruney did nothing but rape and pilage our country for the sakes of private interests that invested in there campaigns. If you have been following Canadian politics as long as I have been you will see a trend happen, Tories F*CK shit up and then the Liberals spend years fixing everything. I would love to give the NDP a crack at it, I like Layton but I don't want anymore time with the Tories so I'm casting my ballot with the Liberals since the have the best chance of unseeding the Tory in my riding. As long as Harper goes down I will be happy.

As long as Harper goes down I will be happy. Actually the Canadian debt as a percentage of GNP is growing faster than the United States. Canadian debt currently stands at around 35% of GNP while US debt stands at around the world average of 58%. Canadian debt is growing at a faster pace due to the entitlement load on the budget which is much higher than the US, and the fact that the Canadian GNP is a small drop in the bucket compared to the US. At the current pace of increase, which is about $153M per day, the Canadian debt as a percentage of GNP will surpass the United States within 5 years. So the reality is that the bankers absolutely do own the government in Canada, just like they do in the US and around the world.
