Post Need a little Help
Im looking at ordering some parts soon for a new computer. Im gonna have them shipped home and build the thing when i get home. Just need some help on the research part. Dont have a lot of time to research.

I was looking at getting this board
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131621

What do u think? I dont need anything to crazy. I saw a board somewhere that has different color lights where the RAM goes. I dont need anything to crazy. Some cool lights. Im trying to stay under $1000 if possible. I need everything but the case.(Mobo,PSU,CPU,RAM etc.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If you aren't going to put it together until you get back, look about a month before you get back and check out everything, and then order it when you get back. Why, you ask? Prices on this shit go down CONSTANTLY. I ordered 2x 2TB hard drives for $110 each and now they're down to $90 each about a month later.

You're going to spend too much on a sub-par machine if you order it and then put it together 9 months from now.

Also, since you're looking at intel, you may want to consider sandy bridges on 1155 socket. Of course after intel releases fixed chipsets (around April),

Do what Carrot said, wait till April if your looking into Intel. Anywho, I'll make you a build one of these days that fits your budget and just message you or something.

The reason im starting now is because i dont want to dump all the money at once. I just need an upgrade from what i have now. Ill probably order the CPU and MOBO last and get the PSU and stuff the first few months. Thanks for all the help!

i can help as well if you would like, what is the case you have? can you provide a link to it on newegg or somewhere? also im guessing you are using it to game then yes? I have built a really good i7 machine on less than 1k, if you dont need the case it will be even better. do you need a OS?

tl;dr look here
-what case do you have?
-need OS?

I was bored at 4 am lol so heres what i put together so far:
The mobo you have doesn't support triple, channel, so you need a different mobo preferably if you want an i7
MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131665
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
RAM:
6gb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
12gb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
DVD burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6827140041
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817371026
HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

idk if you need keyboard/mice and do you have a monitor? some of the things can be replaced if you need to accommodate the other items. also if you intend to overclock, you will probably need an aftermarket cooler as well. but thats up to you those are pretty cheap, 10-15 bucks or so

if you don't want sandy bridge atm cuz of whatever reason, you can replace with a lynnfield which is just as good

Yea i have a keyboard(G15), Mouse(GX9) and i might get a new monitor but thats very last priority. I also have a 1TB internal HDD, and 500GB internal, a 2TB External and two 500GB Externals. Yea i was really only looking at going with an i5....only game i play is CSS and i want to keep the prices as low as possible but still have it be decent. Thanks for all the help Chinese.

I say wait for the i5 Sandy Bridge's and forget about old Nehalems and Lynnfield. All the reviews show a significant improvement with the Sandy Bridge processors. Just my 2 cents though.

My current computer is glorious. It ran me about 1.5k and you could go with a lesser gpu and lesser hard drive and RAM and save like $600 easy.

i would still go with an i7 imo either wait for sandy bridge or just get one now, its up to you, if you only play css then i guess an i5 is good enough, and instead of a gtx 560 you could go with a gtx460, that can bring your prices down to like 700 dollars perhaps, i will remake a list tonight if you would like

look at this: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html - i7-2600/i7-2600K cost about $300, and their performance is close to the CPUs that cost $1000. IMO - wait 2-3 months and you'll be happy as Kano slapping big hairy butt
