Your wrong Snuggle, if it was Gin there would have been reports of flash bangs and bunny hopping and people yelling "BEANER HACKS". I was very sad to hear a poor child lost there life to this senseless tragedy, ok I can understand the attempt on her life as a public figure but why shoot an innocent kid.

Maybe the guy had a good reason for what he did, but none of that matters cause he killed a child. keep children out of the line of fire people

Yeah, incredibly sad story. The spin from the networks has already begun this morning. I hope the best for the families involved and for the reps recovery.

So I'd just like to ask, who the F*CK would tackle some guy with a gun? Guns are legal in Arizona as far as I know, so I'm sure a few people pointed their own legal guns at the guy and forced him to drop his own gun, then he got tackled.

lol its not exactly rocket science to tackle a guy with a gun, although disarming him helps first. Considering the panic that was going on in the crowd at the time after shots fired Id imagine he was trying to book it with a nearly empty gun so wham bam tackle on the ground punch in the face kick the gun away.... meh.

i agree with snuggle. don't try to guess/assume how a situation like that takes place. reports say 15-20 shots were fired, which means he was empty or close to empty as snuggle said. it's not as easy to defend yourself from a tackle with an empty gun, especially if you are facing away from the person doing the tackling.

also, just because guns and concealed weapons are legal in AZ doesn't mean everyone, or even a majority, carries a weapon on them at all times. i have guns at home and one in the car. rarely is it on my person, and i doubt i would carry it to an event such as the one where this shooting occurred.

A lot of people are blaming Sarah Palin for this because of that website she had that had crosshairs over Arizona (and other states), with Gabriella Gifford's name on a list.

I was talking about him targeting the congress woman, I dont condone killing bystanders. Remember that America started its revolution by gangs of colonists doing unspeakable things to british officials. Sooo if you want to assasinate someone, you must have a reason. but going on a rampage isnt ok.

Actually, the guy that did the shooting was a complete whackjob. If you look at his youtube videos, not to mention his myspace, he talked a lot about the government controlling people's lives (by controlling grammar and currency, apparently), a lot of shit about his "new currency," and other terrible uses of logic to justify his insanity. Not to mention his last Myspace post was "Goodbye friends."

This article contains most of the batshit insane stuff I'm talking about.

Addendum: the dude shot at least 17 people, killing 6, including a judge and a 9 year old: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/09/us/po ... fords.html.

Addendum #2: Please don't turn this into anything other than what it is: the guy isn't a radical right winger, muslim, or anything like that. The only thing he's radical about is being radically insane.
