? I use 1.95 @ 400 DPI when I used 800x600 and even now on 640x480. I don't notice any difference.

Go for a more drastic change and you'll notice it.

Going from a standard res to a widescreen monitor and maintaining the monitor's aspect ratio when choosing a resolution is a good way to notice that change.

I use 1.95 @ 400 DPI as well (MX518 mouse), but I use 1920x1080 resolution in game.

raise your dpi and lower your in game. The mouse will be more accurate. i always try to keep my mouse maxed out then only fool around with the in game.

not true. The more DPI the more sensitive the mouse will be, and it COULD start to pick up imperfections in the mousepad/surface and it will jitter.

There's no need to change your DPI if you are use to it anyway, it comes down to preference.

I'm having to mess with dpi again because I don't have a monitor so I'm using a bigger tv. I think I'm at 1080p w/ around 1k dpi and 1.1 sens.

so aM4zing with the 518 at 1800dpi try 0.433333333 . if it dosnt feel right you can always change it back. :)

I can relate, hooker. I run 1080p (32 inch tv), too, with 1800 dpi and 3.14 (pi, lol) sensitivity.

anything over 800 isn't needed.

If you recognize 1800 DPI thats 1800 dots per inch the mouse is going to pick up on, all of which could be movements you don't really mean to make, or dust.

Besides. laser mice are sketchy, that's why people who play this game only use the 400 DPI, because that is the default for most optical mice.

In theory it should be better, but it isn't. This is a case where more isn't always better.

I play a 3 year old Logitech G5 @ 400 D.P.I , on a funC pad with .86 sens and no mouse accel/params. Pretty much my shoulder gets a workout from playing source.

However when I am playing in pubs, I tend to increase the sensitivty just because I really don't feel like putting all that effort into it anymore.. lol.

Been playing CS since beta, I have changed sensitivity one time. My number one piece of advice is just to just stick to one sensitivity. If you are changing it up for whatever reason, give yourself a week before you make any judgements. Try to buy the same mouse. I have been using the G5 since it came out, this is my 3rd one, they last a good while.

I feel the same way Emop. I go between 1.9-2.0 depending on how I'm playing, but I have no reason to change it radically because I play well with my current settings. I've played CS since 1.5, but took a multiple year break before coming back to Source within the last 6 months or so.

don't know about you guys, but I use mouseweights in my mouse.

I have a full rack of 4.5's in my g5 and still have my dpi on 2k

i have 2 4.5s in my G500 just to even out the weight, in my G5 i didnt use them.

1.5 with a crappy HP mouse. It changes with a better mouse though I use to go lower on my g5
