For my part I don't know lots about all of this, out of a sudden I read this, then I remember some debates on TV, then I feel like I should read more about this. Obviously, blocking child pr0nography websites is a good thing, but it only closes Frenchies eyes to child pornography, it doesn't help to clean the internet. They're still going to be there.

Eh its the french who cares...this only makes it easier for the USA to some how impose this on us... i mean im all for closing down pedo-porn but F*CK censoring the interwebs its free governments shouldnt beable to censor shit that they dont "own" or regulate.

Yes, the US government is trying to pass a bill similar to this that will let them regulate the web. This is bad on all accounts, regardless if it's "just the french."

The US bill is worse, it even effects those living outside the country's borders... this is a worrisome step to a communist internet.

I like (yet dislike the meaning) your last statement. We're just redoing the same mistakes that caused civil wars and over-protective governments back in the past. Only difference is since everything works with Internet today (the medias, the government, even the war now) they want to control the information and hide what they dislike on internet.

That's how I see the problem. Frenchies or not, it's starting somewhere, and we don't know where it's gonna be ending.
