Hey I was wondering if it was possible to get an installation CD of windows VISTA. On my laptop I only have a sticker, didn't have the installation CD with it. I need to format it but I can't reinstall VISTA... kinda fucked.

Like is it possible to download the version I actually have from Microsoft.com and put it on a CD or something..

No. If it's a pre-manuf. laptop, which it probably is, then the media is OEM. Microsoft will just tell you to go F*CK yourself and refer you to laptop manuf.

Also. If the laptop wasn't bought from a manufacturer and through a reseller, i.e. Best Buy, etc. The Manuf. of the laptop will refer you to the reseller who will generally in turn tell you to F*CK yourself.

your laptop is supposed to come with a restore CD that would have vista on the CD and would bring everything back to factory defaults. If not, then you were supposed to make one when you got your computer. Try pressing f10 (I THINK) when it restarts and reformatting.

EDIT: you could probably get HP/DELL to send you one if you pay for the shipping.

I've got an Acer Aspire 5536, and I did buy it in a Best Buy in Halifax, NS.

The thing though is when I bought it, it was full of shitty and useless Asus programs, and when I open the task manager, all those shits need .5G of ram, and I need to clean it seriously (too much pr0n)...

Anyway, I got the windows vista sticker on it, but I don't want to pay someone to do a job that I can easily do myself. But I just need a CD for the windows installation... I thought there was some way to download it... meh, I'll look for a restore CD. I just didn't want to make one when I bought it cuz I want to reinstall windows without the shitty programs.

Most of those systems have a backup drive with a separate partition for you to use when formatting.

if your laptop has a backup partition meant for resintalling and restoring your system you'll see it in my computer.. it won't be that huge mine is only 6 gigs and itll usually be called somethign obvious..like HP_recovery (for mine)

and even if you don't want to "acquire it for free" there might be ways to get it cheap, such as education discount or what not.

Even with education discount, it still is expansive, and I don't see why I should REALLY change for windows 7, I've got mine here (found a backup CD), no need to pay, works perfectly even if it's Vista, F*CK it.
