Post New Gaming Rig
So, I'm lookin to get a nice desktop pc to game on. My laptop runs source well and most other games pretty decently on medium-low settings, but I think it's time for an upgrade. I'm looking at this right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227290 but it doesn't have any reviews yet. Anyone have any insight?

Yeah, it would definitely save money...but I've never built one before. Is there a good site to order kits from?

-As for the alienware comment, I'm not really looking to spend $2000, but they are awesome.

Alienware is kickass for pre-built.

Codeman, imo the best way to learn how to build a new pc is to use google and take apart your current desktop (if you have one)

Codeman, build your own. Even if you haven't done it before, it really isn't as hard as it seems. I put the computer i'm using together. I had never done it before, and i'm a F*CKIN retard when it comes to computer skills. If I can do it, i'm sure you can. Like Thezomb said, use your laptop for help while you're putting your new one together. Or the instruction manual that comes with your mobo(thats how I did it.) Plus, it would be good to learn. Just don't bend anything!

Dude building a computer is really easy, not only do the parts look like thats where they go but theres also manuals that come with the parts. I also suggest maybe looking at youtube videos but imo build a computer. I can find u 600 dollars worth of parts that will smoke that computer u linked up there.

That rig would be good for source games like css and Tf2 but newer games would struggle as the radeon Hd5450 is a low-end Gaming/HTPC card. In terms of a video card you should get atleast a radeon 5670 or better or an nvidia GTS 250 or better. But building your own is still ultimately the best value. For the price you can build a much better system.

That's what I was getting at. I never had the opportunity to build one. So first chance I got, I put one together. It was a lot easier than expected. It's kinda like an easy puzzle. The parts are only gonna fit in the spot they are intended to go. The wiring is the only slightly dificult part were the instruction manual is good to refer to. Just so you don't try to turn it on and wonder what the F*CK you did wrong.
