I have a friend, her name is Tammy. She's been trying to raise cash for the Susan G. Komen race for the cure. My wife and I have have donated a lot of money to her already but this lady is $2,000 short of her goal. She's already raised 2 grand trying to reach this (almost ridiculous) goal so she can go to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to walk in this thing. For those folks that know me, you know I really could give a shit ball less about cancer and causes. However, I've seen this lady and her passion for this cause. I guess it kinda tore at my heart strings when she tried to raise money for this thing and took a loss at the event.

SO: Any of you have any fundraising resources that might be able to help this woman out? I'm not asking for YOU to donate to her, just asking if anyone has any resources that can help out. I've already put out a few letters to local businesses in hopes of getting the last 2K, we'll see what happens.

Any ideas would be helpful, thanks in advance.

Coach, let me break this down for you. the Susan Kommen stuff is nothing but a for profit business. Breast cancer has a 90 percent remission rate over a ten year period compared to liver cancer/pancreatic cancer/lung cancer. They bank on the fact people love tits and ride it as far as they can. Why further fund research on a cancer that has a 90 percent sucess rate than fund research on cancers that have a 5 percent success rate. Look at the nfl currently with all its pink shit. Kommen is a business plain and simple.

I actually kind of agree with this. I've had multiple family members with breast cancer and it has barely threatened them. While Mammectomies suck for us all, I think putting more effort in other areas would be the greater contribution.

My Grandmother had breast cancer and like others are saying, it didn't kill her, it was the other cancer the grew from it that caused her to pass away. I support the breast cancer research and have walked in those walks too but I am kinda questioning it all too. but I will still see if I can find some money to send to either one of those links.
