Post David Sedaris
Last night some friends and I went into the city for a book reading by the author David Sedaris. If you don't know his work David is a humourist and writes a lot of short stories about just the funny things that happens to him throughout his life and travels. He even writes funny stories on world events that get published in magazines like The New Yorker. He is on tour at the moment promoting a new book and he made a stop in Toronto to speak to a sold out crowd. If any of you enjoy this type of humour or writing styles I would highly recommend attending one of shows if they happen to come to your area. We had an amazing time hearing excerpts from his book and many other stories he had published in the last 2 years. We also lucked out after we left the theater, the DT core of Toronto was closed down to traffic for a huge art festival in the street. We decided to walk back tot he train station and enjoy the art instead of taking the transit back. It was a good time followed up with beer and wings at the bar to finish things off.

David Sedaris = Highly recommended!

I'm reading "When you are engulfed in flames" right now and so far it's pretty good.

yeah it's not bad, he's spends a little more time talking about batting for the home team (read playing meatflute)than I like to hear about, but other than that, some pretty good stuff.

My buddy gave me a copy of his live at Carnagie Hall CD and it made laugh so hard, especially his 6 to 8 black men story. When my friend heard he was in TO for his new book tour we just had to get tickets. He is very good live, and all the extra stuff he brings that is not published like his journal entries are a laugh.
