 Civ 5
I got Civ5 because each and every gaming friend I have drooled over it.
Now I've got it, I've played it around 4 hours, and I'm still not sure that it's enjoyable or that I'm doing anything right.
SO, for a newb like me, would some of you who "get it" help a brotha out?

I like it. A bit slower pace than I expected, but enjoyable.

 Re: Civ 5
Total war is good and all, but if you want to get indepth and change it up Civ is the king of the turn based. Also look at me and Coach's game stats and we've put our good hours of that game as well.
Honestly it just a matter of playing the Tutorial and playing a whole game or two to really get a good hold, any questions the help button and the encyclopedia they put together is really nice, has a search function and all.

Games is fun slow and time sucking but addictive and enjoyable at later stages when dropping nukes on cities and flying your stealth in behind them to destroy what the nuke left behind....muaahhhhhhh

That's sad because by far it has to be the worst battlefield release on the PC...I'd rather be forced to play BF2 or 2142 for a whole month than have to play that game a whole 12 hours. Though I never did play 1942 or Vietnam but from what I know Vietnam was kinda cool and no clue about about 1942..

I just want to know one thing before I even think about playing another Civ game. Do pikemen still obliterate tanks?

Watching a jeep chock full of motherfuckers blasting surfing bird explode infront of me had to be one of the funniest things ive seen in a game. 1942 was pretty awesome as well. Carpet bombing targets and blowing shit up in a tiger was fun. I have to get that game again as well as Vietnam.

 Re: Civ 5
1942 was unbelievable. It had a desert storm mod (cant remember the name) with the best helicopter controls I've ever played. Everything since has been much worse.
It had plenty of netcode probs but when the game was up and running, it was some of the most intense shit I've ever seen.

 Re: Civ 5
BF2 for me was the pinnacle of online FPS.
Nothing since has even come close. Those maps were huge, incredibly involved and wild as hell. So much to do, whether you wanted to get in and get it on or just toy around with all the cars/equipment that was available to you.
