I understood and agreed with the initial reasons for the Tea Party movement. The problem is that it's seen as a national movement but it's actually a bunch of small groups with little affiliation to one another accept for some underlying principles which makes sense considering as a whole it's seen as a conservative movement. The problem part comes in when radicals like those who put up that ad do things like this and when others protest in front of gov't buildings and yell 'AFRICAN AMERICAN!!!' to black senators and hold up signs which are obviously making racial statements as if the problem in this country is the color of our representatives. It's this ignorance that gets depicted in news stories and ends up being associated with the entire movement.

Personally, I don't find the protests all that amazing. I think it's funny to hear these tea partiers yell and scream and get all excited thinking their actually going to influence the polls and then they find out their not really influencing anyone and are still a minority group. The fact that Sarah Palin supports them is enough to put me off because like most Independents I cant stand her or anyone affiliated with her. The mere mention of her name makes me throw up a little in my mouth. Again, this is my personal belief concerning the racial divide in this country but I see groups like this arising for years to come for multiple reasons.

At best he is a Democratic Socialist like the billboard said, but he is a very weak one at best. There are only two criticism I have against the guy, he inexperienced in federal government, and two he is extremely weak to pass true reform. Health care bill was a show of it, he went from a standard nationalized system to well....a complete pile of shit which just threw a bunch of rules and regulations at the face of private health care and threw some growth hormone into medicaid.

I'm just pissy cause it did not cover Tricare, now when I turn 23 I have to get off the insurance, under the new health reform if it covered Tricare I could of sat on there till 26

Even if he is just a weak democratic socialist, he is still a socialist. For me personally, I will always hate socialism and big government. Same with most of our country. The idea that I am working for anyone else then myself makes me furious. The idea that I have to work so some dickhead can get overpriced healthcare on my dime pisses me off as well. If Obama wanted to reform health care properly, he would force the industry to lower the costs of healthcare. Not force insurance on people. I think the tipping point for me was when he pulled NASA's funding. F*CKING killed our chances of getting to mars anytime soon. That really pissed me off.

"Most of our country" say they hate socialism but will bitch when anyone talks about raising the age for social security or tighten the requirements for medicare and medicaid. At what point does a public good become 'socialist'? People complain about government entitlement spending until they get laid off and have to use unemployment. They go to work everyday on roads built by the government in a car that is safe per DoT standards and work in a safe workspace as mandated by the Federal OSHA. The water you drink is clean due to federal regulation and the air you breathe won't kill you because of EPA standards for pollution. You work to get money...and the only reason paper money exists is because the federal government is strong enough to back it.

If you or anyone you know went to a public school, is that socialist? How about if the police or firefighters helped you? The military overseas fighting to protect American interests? You got a loan from a bank regulated by the Feds to buy a house that meets code? You listen to the radio?

I see many noobfest members that are in the military or seem to work for the public sector? Are you calling them socialist?

While yes your image looks fine, it fails to show the current adminisration..the trend is still going up and the debt is still rising the whole party vs national debt is bullshit they both have contributed to it and both have had it come down during each others reigns in sometime or the other.

A public good becomes socialist when it is a public sector, which sometimes isn't too great, I think Gman said awhile back that remind me to be cautious when it came to our governments to control stuff. He used the DMV as an example on how sometimes something government ran can be complete and utter shit.

I can't argue half the points you make cause ether I agree with them or some of them are just ranty.
