Post Event Horizon
I've been working on a new song for the album entitled Event Horizon; a very lyrically paradoxal-type song. Mixed between Tool, Deftones, and a bit of Dream Theater, the song attempts to explain two situations:

1. A relationship with issues, taking the journey to fix things from before, and learning to be happy living for today, instead of worrying about what has already been done.

2. Encountering the supermassive black hole in our "dark rift", trying to get away from it, going through a wormhole and ending back home.

The vocals are not complete, they are a rough draft of where they WILL be and how they will be sung in their proper places. I'm probably going to the studio with this one, adding the drums and bass myself. The first verse and chorus are complete, but I have yet to finish the rest. I want to know if you think it's good, and by posting this in the Art/Music section it doesn't really give me a big base of people who are interested/not interested.

EDIT: Forgot to add the lyrics

Title: Event Horizon
Artist: First Sun
Album: Mind Under Matter

Verse 1
-------
Sliding deeper into a sleep
Wander off to where you are
Telling me that we are closer
To the end of it all

Now the earth begins to fade
Flying past the galaxies
Trying harder to find the edge
Only finding yesterday

Chorus
------
And we're constantly falling
We're constantly drifting away
But it's not the end now
Not the end for us today

Verse 2
-------
Staring at event horizon
We both drift away
Facing all the opposition
Waking from yesterday

Moving down an endless tunnel
Taught from our mistakes
Together, like bottom funnel
Both of us now awake

Chorus
------
And we're constantly falling
We're Constantly drifting away
But it's not the end now
Not the end for us today

Bridge
------
Falling apart we cannot
Believe anything that they say
Staring at event horizon, she said
Destroy anything in your way

I'm hoping to bring a unique style of playing towards music and the music industry with my unique style of playing and lyrics. Even if I never make it famous, which I probably won't... I can at least say the music I've made wasn't the same-old screamo shit I hear from many local bands due to lack of meaning in lyrics of failure to be decent at coming up with transitions for songs to retain feeling.

Update :P
potential solo...
Lots and lots of messups, but I want to keep the tapping into the song to keep it's otherwordly sound from the intro. I was messing around, and I did something so godly sounding that I had to incoporate it in. I don't know anyone else who uses tapping slides like this, or at least for this method of playing. It's loud and sucks because I didn't edit any of it, and didn't care.. this was just to get a feel for what it may sound like. Basically, seeing what belongs where.

Badass solo, its been done lots of times (by people like Michael Romeo and Paul Gilbert), but it doesn't mean that what you played isnt F*CKING badass. Really clean tapping and legato, brotha. Learn the modes and you can tap over those to! The lyrics are epic as F*CK, you better have some epic music to go with it haha. So far so good, man. Keep it up!

The second verse (instrumental part) and solo are done. I fucked up twice, but I don't give a shit. My fingers are blistered, popped, and blistering over again. If I play anymore... I will literally start bleeding from my fingers, so I've got to stop. The only thing left is bass and drum tracks.

Anyway... here's the finished product...

Damn your tone is good, acid. The song sounds awesome... very toolish, but not in a rip-off way. Keep it up, man.
