I've been through it once already. If you stick with it you will get ripped for sure. Gotta cut out all the bad foods, because the nutrition is the most important part of the program. Think about it as fueling yourself to be able to make it through that next workout. If you eat too little, you will crash out in the middle of one of the workouts. Good luck.

If you are looking for any pointers throughout let me know.

LEWL hahaha...I'm at least going to do the first month of P90x before pics. I'm not fat, just not as ripped as normal right now. I build muscle FAST so just before surgery I'll do the pics, should be pretty good at that point. Y'all are NASTY. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_31 Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_03

Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_42 Thanks. You'll be proud to know I BROUGHT IT today...did Ab Ripper X and Arms/Shoulders...that totals up to 377 pushups/tricep exercises and 349 ab/core exercises. My arms and stomach feel like rubber, I'm gonna DIE tomorrow. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_38

I told you, it's CRAZY hard. But the arms/back/shoulders goes at your own pace. They tell you to count how many of each exercise you can do to keep track of progress. That's how many I ended up being able to do. That may not be the same as you, or anyone else. So don't let that freak you out.

Its all self-paced and self-motivated. The goal of the program isnt in how many reps you can do. The goal is to increase the reps you can do by the end of the program compared to the reps you could do at the start of the program. So if pinky can do 377 reps now then by the end of the program she should be able to do more. How much more? That depends on how much effort and discipline she puts into the program. If you start the program and can do 10 reps then by the end of the program you should be able to do more. Which is how any sort of physical training program should be designed. When I started working out my max bench press was around 85lbs and at one point in my mid-20s my max bench press was around 320lbs which was pretty close to twice my bodyweight. You just have to commit and persevere and you'll see and feel the results of your hard work. Strength of mind is what your truly improving when you work out and those who succeed can see for themselves the results of their labor. GL to everyone who tries this and training in general.

Well admittedly I am a little intimidated by all this. I'm not completely out of shape but I gained 50 lbs after living with my gf for a year. So now I am around 330 lbs. so this will be a huge test of my willpower to see this thing through. I use to play rugby and I would like to get into that again someday. Let alone improve my general health

Post Re: Starting P90x today!
A lot of people like p90x and Insanity because they can do it in the comfort of their own home. I understand the whole intimidation going to a gym, I know it kept me from working out as a teen cuz i was F*CKIN skinny. I only started working out cuz my friends brought it up one day and I jumped on it. I realized quick it doesnt F*CKING matter about how much you lift or how many reps you can do, its the progress you make. My friend never worked out in his life and first day he could drop down and pump out 225 presses like nothing. Granted he was more than twice my size literally but it was something I always wanted to do and it took me years to get to there but I finally did it.

Now I usually walk around at 175lbs which isnt big by any means but I have no problems going into a gym and showing up all the meatheads who think becuz their big it means something. I cant tell you how many of them over the years looked down on me cuz i wasnt big or a bodybuilder until I got under the bar and started squatting or spent an hour working up to a max deadlift pull. I know it fucks with their heads when someone my size lifts the same weight as them or a lot of times more becuz they only work their upper body. And when I start doing DB snatches? Forget about it. On the flip side though I've had a lot of guys come up to me and say, "Hey nice work I've seen you in here for a long time and your F*CKIN progress is amazing." It's nice to hear because those guys are the ones I compare myself against.

Post Re: Starting P90x today!
I miss the days when I played rugby I was at my lowest 255lbs and 6feet tall. I was the smallest prop in the league but I was a solid tank. But after a lot of shit happened with college and shit I let myself go for 5 years... now I am back at the start. I can't even do a pull up to save my life. Despite the intimidation I am also getting quite hyped up by your posts Vision and PinkMonk3y.

Post Re: Starting P90x today!
Vision nailed it. It's all about your OWN personal progress. Comparing means nothing with a program like this. It doesn't matter if you can't do any pull ups NOW, wait and see, if you follow it, you will surprise yourself eventually! I suggest following "Lean" out of the 3 programs you can do with this, it emphasizes weight loss and strengthening. If you wish, you could either do P90x+ or do another round and do Classic, which bulks you up after losing the weight.

Seriously, trust! It's all about YOU, and no one else.

On a side note, although I'm dying a bit here right now, oooooarrrrgh, soreness, I can ALREADY see a difference and it's been, what, FOUR DAYS?! I think I've dropped a few lbs and my definition in places is better. Gr33ny thinks so too. When I take pics this Friday (once a week to document, Friday is the day) I'll be able to tell for sure. That's incentive all by itself.

Again, let's keep this thread going as I'd like to share my progress and some pics soon and I'd love to hear anyone else's stories and/or progress. Especially yours, HS!
