Victoria Day Weekend! The first long weekend in spring, it's supposed to be a holiday to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday but instead we use it as the first long weekend of drinking! Also you can set off fireworks all weekend long. We have two holidays you can do fireworks, this one and July 1st which is Canada day! This is a big camping/cottage weekend as tradition, but I didn't go camping this year but I hope too next year. Also we call it the May twofour because that is what we call a case of beer up here a twofour!

Is Canada day like Independence day or something? If so whay celebrate the Queens birthday? Not offensive in any way. I just don't know much about my northern neighbors holidays, and it's interesting. Anyways hope ya had fun drinkin and setting off fireworks. We don't even get to buy any fireworks for another 39-40 days or so damnit! But at least this year they're bringing back the firework show(Didn't have it last year because of not having sufficient funds.) Biggest firework display west of the Mississippi! But this year it's not on a barge on the river and the explosions are supposed to be closer to the ground(to me that sounds like a fire waiting to happen? Trying to burn down a historical fort from the early 1800's or somethin.)

yea they get pissed about fireworks in CT, but we still drive up to vermont and new hampshire to pickup like 400/500$ worth for 250$ (buy one get one free ftw).

Well it was an old holiday to remember the queens birthday dating back in our history with England but now we just celebrate the fine spring weather with booze and the outdoors. Canada Day is the countries birthday so it is very much like your fourth of july in the states. We also look forward to that one becasue it's another day off and a day let off fireworks.

Quebec is gay though because they don't really celebrate it. Instead they have ¨la Saint-Jean¨, because they have to be different. Whatever, I`m buying my beer and lighting my fireworks.
