If you're not at home, you can "buy" it from any browser, just click install or add to cart, then login and when it says successful its been added to your account, you're good. It'll then be available for download.

Just make sure it's listed under "Licenses and Subscription" in your account.

There's a n00bfest server setup -- it has nothing cool -- no admin -- no settings -- expect it to be restarted randomly to fix configuration -- but here it is:

fyi: I had to open console and type connect 72.249.124.51:27015 to get in

Server now has a copy of the main's config and mani installed -- the mani config is a little different so point out bad things

I had it the first round but with this everyone else can get it and I can finally get a nice home to play it to really test it out.

You guys are very welcomed. I wanted to make sure everyone knew about it so we'd all have a chance to test it out. Eventually, and unfortunately, CSS will cease to be fun for our big community one day, and we'll move on to bigger and better things. The biggest unfortunate part about the whole thing is that "changes" like these that come to games can easily make/break the game and have people lose interest in it completely. I figured if we got the entire community involved in this beta, we could get a better understanding on how you guys feel about the "new Counter-Strike: Source" and if you guys rejected it from the get-go, or liked it.

Most of you who were upset about the updates listed, I have to agree with you, but look at it like this... at least they did something. Even if it's still exploitable by every known script to man, they still tried to add fun features to the game. I don't know any other company who does FPS's who would do something like that to a really old game.

While the community has gone from different games, I don't think I could see it leaving the counter strike realm...

Hell there are still some community still rocking 1.6.

but I do agree, change in inevitable, I welcome most of the changes in the beta...except the fact my ping keeps flinging a bit and the motion blur doesn't seem too smooth.

I for one see this as a breath of fresh air, bringing some much needed life into CSS. I stopped rebelling against CS updates long ago. In the beginning many people will still resist and complain, but it's only temporary. This is only going to help CS remain as one of the most popular online games ever (a title it has since 1999). Things have always been rocky in the beginning, only to become smooth and stable with time.
