Hey Joe, they were F*CKING with you. Brown widows do exist, but they are a separate species. They are more poisonous, but they inject less venom and are less likely to bite than the black widow. Here is a quote on the "cross":

Brown recluses seem to accumulate myths. In 2005 a man reported hearing that they acquired their toxicity through a mutation due to World War II atomic-bomb research. Of course that is nonsense – the toxic component in recluse venom is also present in distant relatives that diverged many millions of years ago. Once in a while you hear a rumor about a supposed cross between a black widow and a brown recluse (those being the only 2 spiders the rumor-monger has ever heard of). These species are so unrelated it would be like a cross between a whale and a walrus.

lol ya that's an old pic, but gives you a good idea of why to be cautious of spiders. One of the kids at my high school(been out of school for five years and it was seven years ago) was playing with a Brown Recluse on a stick and it jumped off the stick and bit him on his lower lip. His lip ended up looking just like that thumb about a day after the bite. Had to have reconstructive surgery on his lip LOL!

we get these sun spiders in AZ in the summers. ugly as F*CK and FAST. they will charge people. i'm not a big fan of spiders, and when they are large and try to chase me, no thanks.

this video gives you a better idea of their size. i would say this is average/medium size for them. if you listen to the kid talking, he calls it a camel spider, but those are a bigger and fatter.

Those are some wird lookin little F*CKERS! Looks like that one might be dead? Wish I could see one in person. If a spider is willing to chase you it means business. That's kinda how we caught this one haha. When we tore off a fence board it fell near my co workers foot and started to run after him lol. Then it just stopped and sat there long enough for me to run to my truck and grab my glass jar(cuz that's were I caught most spiders is during tear outs.) When I got back to it I just put the jar over it, slid the lid under her and braught her home and bought a spider cage. Fed her grass hoppers and crickets when I couldnt get other spiders. Sometimes i'de feed her bees.

I much prefer the spiders in australia who climb in your shoes at night and wait fory ou to put them on in the morning so they can bite you, dunno their name but its spawned a habit of people stomping on the toes of their shoes before putting them on

If you have daddy long legs where you live, force yourself to pick one up without hurting it, and let it crawl over you.

Quite pleasant actually, like a lady softly caressing you with her fingernail. I jerk it while letting daddy longlegs crawl all over me, naked, in a tub of jell-o. Because where I live there are no women. So I have to pretend, by letting spiders crawl all over me.

HOPE THAT HELPS

Hey Zuol, one more piece of info for ya to think about. The 2 most common places to get bit by a hobo spider is either while you're asleep it sneaks under the sheets and get's trapped and starts bitting like crazy, either that or they like to sneak into clean laundry, when you put the clothes on, it has the same affect of trapping it under the sheets. Feels trapped and goes crazy! Just so you know :)
