I wanted to show you guys kind-of what I went through today. It was the most painful thing I've ever been through in my entire life. My legs are swollen, and have 17 holes from a 14-gauge needle about six inches long popping through my fascia. This was to determine whether I had compartment syndrome or not.

Here's what happened. I went to the doctor this afternoon. They told me that after the first 8 needles I would have to go outside and run for an hour, and then come back and do it again (another 8 needles). When I sat down on the examine chair, they did this to me... nine times:



They were testing the pressure between the fascia and my muscle compartments (there are four in the leg, which is why I had to have eight total. They fucked up on one, and had to do it again). Then I ran for an hour, came back and did it again. The doctor told me that the results were a little high on pressure, but it wasn't quite enough for him to be concerned. My pressure tested out at about 17, and 20 was the max. I would honestly say that it was close enough for a diagnosis of compartment syndrome, but they said they were "going to go with no". Then I had to get X-rays done, and tomorrow I have to call in for a bone-scan. The bone-scan is painless, but it requires an I-V of radiation through my body to get an accurate scan. For now, we still have not found the problem. I feel like they overlooked the compartment syndrome because it WAS high. They just simply chose to go with no. The surgery for compartment syndrome is very painful, and in most cases does not help the patient. This video is old, but shows the basic procedure to help slice the fascia (the sheath of skin which holds the muscles in their compartments) so the muscle can spread out more and get more blood flow so it doesn't weaken out:

The deployment option is a no-go for sure.
We're still doing tests to figure out what's going on.

So here's an update:

I called today to get the bone-scan done, and to arrange the appointment. The fluid they need to do this will not be in for a week or two. This means a longer wait, with no results, but plenty of time to heal my legs from all the needle pokes. Sorry to hear that man :( Even a simple injection freaks me out, so I'd never be able to go through all that.

well that's crappy by the drs doing that acid but it is a good thing ur leegs get to heal first :) also how are ur legs? Still swollen?

wow dude good luck. I know how it feels with the needles...I had to have my knee aspirated 7 times through my 3 knee surgerys and its like the same thing. BIG ASS F*CKING needle jammed into sensitive places. Omg the worst was when the doc would wiggle the needle in my knee to get more fluid out and would strike a nerve, jesus did it hurt. If no one knows what that is
