Do you like sushi?


i have been working the knife for over 12 years now. if there is any gaijin left who knows more about the black arts then he is dead and buried in my backyard.

rice is the LAST honorable food. it is very difficult to cultivate, takes alot of time and energy, infact it takes whole communities. Rice is one of the only grains in history that has been used as currency. in Japan, the Koku was the mesurment or amount of rice it took to feed one person for a entire year. so if a Samurai was alotted a 35 koku per year stipend for his service ( this would be considered the equivelent of making 35k a year today), this would be intended to feed him and his family and attendants so on and so fourth. to have rice meant that no matter what you would never go hungry. it was used in barter for other items of necessity.

treat your rice as if it was gold.

alot of people miss treat food, or put things into thier bodies that have no buisness being there. heavily processed and dehydrated, preserved, chemicaly treated irradiated glop in your tummy. sounds great huh? i watched a TV show called...jesus i forgot the name, but it was about 5 tribesmen who came overseas from Vanuatu. they came to America and stayed with 5 individual families from across our nation for a week at a time.

one family took them fishing. they took them out and bought a shit ton of expensive fishing gear, day licences....then took them to a CATCH AND RELEASE area. when they started catchin shit tons of fish and were instructed to THROW THEM BACK, they were confused, but wait, there is more.... then after they were done fishing, these people took them out to dinner, and ordered, FISH! the natives were amazed at how wasteful we were with out resources and funds.

then one family they stayed with was during Thanksgiving. OH BOY! so during the entire preperation of the meal, the natives were shocked, horrified, mystified, blown away. people cooked birds in giant PLASTIC BAGS? thier yams looks like orange GLOP TURDS, and look nothing like a yam. they were genuinely AFRAID to eat the food. in thier own language, one of the natives told the other, he was amazed that we are still alive as a nation from our eating habbits, that there was no LOVE in our food, and that it was LIFELESS.

when foods become hevily processed, and pass through many hands, the energy in the food degrades, and accumulate negative and decaying energies. exspecially if the people handeling the food do not care for it, or those it intends to nourish. people have become so disconnected, and it shows in their health and well being.

so do your upmost to get foods that have gone through the least amount of hands. GROW your own gardens, hunt your own meat, and fish for yourself.

Is sushi good?Ihear people who love it and people who hate it..What does it taste like?I'm really not too interested in anything raw but would try it if made right.i go to portland sometimes to visit my cousin matt.I migt come by and try sushi for the first time.

argggg i wish i had a good sushi place here >< uggg i miss it >< i love it XD great stuff Hibachi shrimp is good and even the fried eggs i just dont like the seaweed it taste like plastic to me :/ and eel isnt good imo lol

Ya KA BAR, I'll be there sometime. I live right across the river from Portland in eastern Vancouver. Shit you're close enough I could just ride my bike(I like riding long distances) plus theres the MAX. So i'll let you know who I am when I get there. It might not be very soon cuz i'm broke as F*CK. But I like some sushi, so i'll try it out man! I'll have to rite down the name of the place so I can remember to go there. Plus you're in the neighborhood I like to ride in, so you can bet i'll be hungry!

I love me some Hibachi! Never had "good" sushi, only the cheap imitation stuff.

I have found new respect for you, one of the many things I want to do is become a master sushi chef.

Holy shit luff knows what that means? Does that mean the schools of California are actually teaching their students something? Or is it just he watches to many damn foreign movies? O.o anyways Jets right if you have good sushi its amazing but if u have bad sushi u just wanna curl up in the fetal position and wait for death...Ive realized something tho...if your sushi smells like fish you really shouldnt eat it then...i know seems kinda fucked right? But bad fish smells like fish good fish doesnt smell XD at least from my experience :)

but yeah I'm down with the whole rice thing.

I have yet to eat a piece of sushi that I like. You're located very conveniently to me, so perhaps I'll stop by and you can give me the "sushi chef's course" to convince me that I like it.

With sushi, the rice should be firm, the fish should smell almost like nothing at all. When you eat it, you should get a good flavor of all the mixed ingredients, but not an overly "fishy" taste...if it's there you are risking an all nighter with the Porcelain God. There are also varieties of cooked sushi and sushi without fish for those who don't like raw fish.

Gr33n and I are regulars at a place down the road. It's got GOOD sushi, and I'm super picky about it. We are regulars to the point where they know us and clap when we come in, ask about the family and give us a free dessert.

Sushi is amazing! If you haven't liked it in the past, you probably haven't had good sushi.
