Post Breed 12 inches
i noticed a few people on here posting some stuff about drum n bass.

If you like drum n bass, or ANY bass oriented music... this label is one you've gotta check out. So far I have not been dissapointed with ANY of the Breed releases. F*CKIN' bass heavy and groovin.

Here are some samples of what i just picked up on vinyl. If you like electronic music, give 'em a listen.

BRD004 - Utopia
A. Diamonds Shine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4l8e_b_vEg
B. Scan Me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjfsK_L827Y

BRD005 - DaVIP & Encode (just came out in april!)
A. Vamanos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhVUfuhy_GU
B. High Technology: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlgMP5H_H0I

The A sides to both those records are some SERIOUS biznass. Vamanos is so filthy its rediculous. Something like robots F*CKING your ears.

BRD006 comes out in July featuring Gemini. Its gonna be another SICK release.

A. Down: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sk3o3hmAa3I
B. Electric Rain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQXOP7l7_oE

All 3 releases are next level shit! Bassfiends dont sleep on this shit!

Intelligent drum n bass FTW. Its gotta be synthy and its gotta have jazz/jazzy samples throughout. Good example is LTJ Bukem.

Utopia can be great! Just listened to "Diamonds Shine" and I was blown away. GREAT SHIT. Damn I love that synth. "Scan Me" was too hardcore and not melodic enough.
DaVIP & Encode's "High Technology" sounded awesome and their "Vamanos" was ok, but again too rhythmic and not enough melody.
Gemini's "Electric Rain" was awesome, I loved the piano. "Down" was mediocre.

yeah, bukem is some quality stuff. definately one of the more well known pioneers of the "atmospheric jungle/drum n bass" movement.

I like all sorts of jungle and drum n bass, from the jazzy atmospheric stuff to the the hard banging neurofunk. My crate has a little bit of everything in it. :)

Believe it or not, before he got into the atmospheric stuff, bukem was all about the breakbeat hardcore.

not sure if this link will work (you might have to register to use it) but here is a live set of his from Fantazia back in 92.

(edit - okay, so i just listened to this, and realized it was the wrong live set. this one is definately more atmospheric jungle, mixed with oldschool hardcore.)

Still, classic oldschool. Even if you have to register to listen to it, its worth it. I love Goldenerajungle.com So much good oldschool stuff. some of the mixtapes arent top sound quality, but then again, they are from the early 90s, so what do you expect?

You might check out some of the older junglesky releases as well. There is an old CD that is off the hook... ah, here it is: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Nirvana- ... ease/10144

These two tracks from it blow me away every time i here 'em:

187 - We are Not Alone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfnmvDlw7EE&fmt=18
Marshal H - I wish
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjZtLumAuAg&fmt=18

Glad to see there are other junglist/bassheads on n00b!

Receptor is the only artist that I can think of on the Breed label, but he's got some epic shit... Especially "Rhyno",too bad I can't find a good quailty download anywhere without buying the 12".

Utopia and DaVIP & Encode i think are my favorites. Billion and Kubrak also have some tunes on there. They only have 5 releases out at the moment, with one coming out in July. I think the label definately has a pretty sweet sound, and has been evolving to a whole new level with their past few and future releases. I can't wait to see whats next after BRD006.

Rhyno is probably my least favorite of Receptor's tracks... but that being said, its still awesome (thats saying something about receptor!) I think my favorites by him are "Ass" which i think is unsigned so far, and "Flash" off of MFR002. Its the B side to a pretty mediocre Camo & Krooked song, but Flash is absolutely killer.

Has such a SWEET 130 bpm breakdown section.

"Flash" is insane! I had never heard of it until you posted the link. I completely forgot about "Ass", I heard it recently and jumped on my desk dancing and shit!
