 Re: To n00bfest
I hope all goes well and I just wanted to give you some pointers to remember:
1) Flash Nades, Flash Nades, Flash Nades, you can never carry enough! 2) Bunny hopping is not a bannable offence over there so do it to move around faster! 3) It's ok to bait with the Afgan Soldiers, that's what they are there for! 4) Keep your head down and your wits about you and cum home safe! 5) Pack some N00bfest underwear so if you get one of those fun moment pics on T.V. we know it's you and your safe.
We'll miss you and we all love you in a non-gay way except Kano and ToKen, I think they like you in that funny way.
I am the Captain and I approve this message!

 Re: To n00bfest
IMO get teh test done. Its kind of a lose lose situation as it stands. If youre diagnosed youll be pushed into a desk or something to that nature , if youre not diagnosed you remain in limbo with another unit possibly. While the job reprocussions suck balls, the reprocussions otherwise will be 100x worse. Undiagnosed compartment syndrome can get really F*CKING bad really quick. If its early in its progression the risk levels go down dramatically. Get a good doctor, listen to him and virtually all risks will go away. Take it from me, pay attention to the facts dont get overwhelmed by the bad things. I had to consider death for 4 months previous to my surgery,
then again im speaking from the perspective of having everything paid for by governement.. so it may be a little bit different for you.... not sure of the price of a fasciotomy down south. just my two cents

 Re: To n00bfest
It just sucks sitting in the middle of everything. This shit really fucks with your head when you're deploying "for sure" one day, then the next- you're facing medical issues that may cost your career. It's been a rough week thus far, but I haven't given up... not yet anyway. Thanks for all the support you guys have given me, and no matter what happens... I will always be around n00bfest, no matter where I am. n00bfest runs strong in my blood (Well, so does Anthrax and Smallpox right now, too... but that's besides the point.)
In other news, tomorrow is my birthday, and I'm also scheduled for a PT test. Go figure.

 Re: To n00bfest
I feel ya Acid, I was in the same boat a few years ago. Went through 8 months of training only to be told the DAY BEFORE that I wasn't going because of medical issues. Had all my bags packed and my wife was in the mind-set I was leaving and NOPE they stopped that shit real quick. Lucky for me I got orders out of that place and didn't have to deal with the dumbass MO anymore. I hope everything works out well for ya bro!

 Re: To n00bfest
Good news. Today we did our pre-deployment PT test, and I passed. My legs are humongous, but I passed nonetheless. I'm by no means at PT stud, especially with all the drinking I did Saturday at Gmans.
I managed to do 56 pushups, 62 situps, and run two miles in 15:42. Out of a total possible 300 score, all three events added up to a 222. Not F*CKING bad at all. I can take this to my doctor to see if I'm fit for duty even though I may still have to have the surgery. If I do, maybe I can get them to let me deploy, but after I've recovered.
The good news is that things are looking a lot better than they were, and it's nice to see something good come out of the shithole once in a while.
Also, thanks Turkey. I'll be on the radio tonight more than likely. If not tonight, then definitely Saturday. I've been slipping past couple of weeks due to deployment prep, but I'll be there. Look for the announcement in the general section!

 Re: To n00bfest
I scored a 290 on Marine PT, my 3 mile time was 19:59 and 18:00 was a perfect score
I wish I could still do 20 pull ups
:(
