The people against this are F*CKING idiots. Of course it's going to lead to some abuse but in our society that's just how it is going to be. No matter what, somewhere someone is going to be abused. That shouldn't be a reason not to enforce the law. I'm so F*CKING sick of hearing about immigrants coming into America illegally and the people who protect them and demand them to be treated like a citizen not a criminal. They should of been enforcing laws like this years ago. White people have no F*CKING foresight...

One problem I can see right off the bat with this bill is that mass amounts of illegals in Arizona are going to flea into other states to hide. But other than that i'm all for it, and all states should be doing the same. God damn illegals!

People are against the bill cause it's a HORRIBLE idea. This bill gives the police the power to question and detain anyone who they suspect of being an illegal immigrant. Since there's nothing that clearly distinguishes an illegal immigrant from a legal immigrant besides a few sheets of paper, there's huge potential for abuse. Do you REALLY want the police to have the ability to detain anyone they want just because they suspect that they are an immigrant and they suspect that the documentation you're providing is fake?

The best way to go after illegals is to target the people who allow them to live and work here in the USA, but since those people have money and can vote, it's much easier to target a group of people who have no legal standing in the US.

White people aren't exactly clamoring to get in to the U.S. for a free ride on our slowly developing welfare state. Europe already is one so they all just stay there.

So how exactly do you find out which people are allowing them to live and work here ? I can't think of to many ways. You think an employer is just gonna step out and admit they knowingly hire illegal imigrants? Maybe a small percentage will, and maybe the ones that suspect having illegals working there will. But not all illegals have jobs. There's a lot of them that are gang related out there selling drugs to little kids, raping, killing and who knows what else. Our country has to fight back some how. It can only go so far before you have to do something about it. If you don't you might as well just open the borders and tell em all to come on in. No matter what they do they won't catch all of them. On the other side, it really does suck for the ones that are legal being hastled. I mean tell me if I miss understood what you meant by the whole "target the people that allow them to live and work here." But there's not to many different ways you can take that.

Idk, i havent read the bill but i do think we need to deal with all the illegals in this coutry. I think the biggest problem we have with the illegals are the taxes we all pay that end up going to them even tho they dont pay taxes, and the drug trade from mexico that comes through freely. And also, the burden the illegals put on our healthcare system by going to the hospital and not paying. I say screw them all, but be careful, we do need some safeguards for legal mexicans and other hispanics.

Of course there needs to be strict oversight to avoid abuse. Parts of this legislation may be deemed unconstitutional but at least it's something. Something to get the federal government's attention and the attention of the American people. Arizona has been waiting for the fed to do something for years and they've done nothing. It's totally unacceptable.

There needs to be a comprehensive solution to this problem not just targeting one part of it such as the people who allow them to live and work here. That won't work. Phoenix is already the kidnapping capital of the USA. It also has a very high crime rate. This is not a coincidence and it won't go away without targetting the illegal immigrants.

There needs to be swift and decisive action in this matter especially in the border states. The fed should stay out of it and deal with more pressing matters.

born and raised in AZ i am proud to see this law passed. people who oppose this bill don't understand how much of MY tax money goes to illegals. california has worse conditions, but those people are too idiotic to try and fix them. they are ILLEGAL for a reason. they have always been illegal, people just slowly become more compassionate over the years, because they can get some occasional cheap labor from them (like i just did this morning from my landscaper).

they receive welfare; they increase crime rates, which increases the amount of police required causing higher taxes; they receive free healthcare even though they are illegal; they do not pay taxes. racial profiling exists because people of that race don't obey the law. if someone is racially profiled and they are innocent they have nothing to worry about, right?

to be clear, i am not for or against this bill because i havent read it or looked into it at all because i am way too lazy. i do however, totally agree that something needs to be done about all the illegals, i would say a join decision involving the feds and the states, because in the border states the laws need to be very different than in the non-border states. like, arizona needs different laws about illegals than NY, cause arizona has more problems with illegals so they need a faster, and more involved solution than ny.

I could see a lot of shit going down because of this, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Oh, and "If you've done nothing wrong then what do you have to worry about" is a stupid argument. Would you be okay with Police tapping your phone without a warrant regularly to check up on you? Or even visiting you regularly to make sure that you're not doing anything that they deem illegal? I mean, if you're not doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about, right?

i have no problem with the police tapping my phone, or coming to my house regularly, in fact, i wish the police/feds did this on every1 because we would all be a whole lot safer. i DO HAVE nothing to worry about, so whats the big F*CKING deal. yea yea, big brother and all that shit, but it wont happen, too many red necks with guns for that shit to happen in this country.

i understand your point ozark, but my personal phone conversations don't cost anyone money but me. and yes they can check up on me, and yes i am doing nothing wrong. i am not afraid of the police. if you lived in my area you may view this differently. heard a gun fight like 1/4 mile away about a week ago or so (about 20 shots fired). i would have loved for the police to be checking up on me when that happened, so some criminals can go to jail.

all they have to do is have their ID on them and they can continue about their business. i don't know about you, but i have my ID on me 99.9% of the time i leave my house.

Yes if you're doing nothing wrong then you don't have anything to worry about. Plain and simple. Abide by the laws wich are there for a reason and you're fine. Millions upon millions of LEGAL american citizens pay for people to break the law from day to day. You pay your taxes and then when you go to hospitals or send your children to school you pay for that as well. But while you're dealing with all that the illegals sit around and get a free ride in life. You're ok with that? Or even better, are you ok with yourr children snorting coke, injecting meth ? It's not to hard to be stopped for 3 minutes out of your day and just provide a valid id. They check it in there computers and you're on your way.
