A few weeks ago, my Great-grandma died at the age of 100. Now my family is wondering where to bury her...She was born in Canada, then moved out to a small town in Illinois. Once she became to old to live on her own she moved out here to San Diego with my grandparents, but she always hated California. Now the question is, should we just bury her ashes in a cemetery in Escondido, or fly out to Illinois and set her there, since that is the location of which she truly loved. Money isn't an issue with plane tickets either.

I'd bury her with the rest of the family, wherever they are. Parents/brothers/sisters/etc.

Yup. Location really doesn't matter, because the dead do not worry about such things (you won't too once you are dead). What matters is that it is done where the family members can easily go to pay their respects.

Have to agree, keep her near the family, it's the living members that are going to be affected by where she is, not the dearly departed.

from my numerous experiences with shit like this, bury her where shed like to be not where its convenient for you and your family. dead people have no feelings towards the future that is true, they dont give a shit but if you wanna honor her the way shes hould be it would be in the placement of her remains.

a lot of people think its nice to have them nearby in case you want to visit but, lets be truly honest. Not many people go back frequently enough for it to make a difference.

You said ashes right? throw her off the plane while going to Florida for a vacation but make sure your flying over Illinois then so she will be where she was most happy at...seriously tho did she not have her own plot already picked out? most old people do so we youngens dont have to worry about that and just put them in the ground and call it a day.

You don't reserve plots for ashes. Spread them where ever you think your grandma loved to be. My parents still have my uncles ashes and he died years ago. They used to keep his ashes in my room which creeped me out when I went home to visit but we were suppose to spread them around the area where he always wanted to live but never had the chance to.

Get the family together and mix her ashes with coke and have everyone do a line of grandma. That way she will always be inside you.

Lol Kano. You do bring up a good point though, if we do end up flying to Illinois it will be difficult to bring her ashes on the plane. Have to bring her death certificate probably.
