Maybe this should be in the pub section, but briefly I want to explain why I do so many things at one time.. like videos, art, astrophotography, web design, programming, scripting, and of course... gaming.

These are always hobbies that I've had for a really long time, and I enjoy jumping from one to the other when I get bored, because I can't stand not having something to fool with and make my own.

I was heartbroken about 79 days ago, when I switched hosts over to the same one n00bfest runs on. While I was switching hosts, I realized I had purchased a domain through my previous hosting company and I'd need to transfer it over to the new one. I contacted my host about releasing my domain, www.electricimpulse.net. They told me I would have to go through Melbourne IT whom they use to resell domains. This company is, of course, in Australia. My hosting company released the domain from their servers and gave me the key to transfer the domain to something like namecheap or godaddy (a primary domain-name selling company). When I released the domain from Melbourne IT, they deleted it from their systems comepletely without warning. When a domain-name reseller does this, it basically puts the domain in a "reclaim state". This means that the domain is "locked" from everybody, even myself from being touched unless I pay the fee to renew the domain. To make a long story short, I called them up trying to get my domain back after they deleted it, and they told me to renew it would cost me $250! I told them to F*CK themselves and that I would wait for 72 days patiently to re-register the domain. They told me it wouldn't be a wise idea because anyone could actually pay the $250, and own the domain for the rest of the life it had left for the purchased year. Normally, renewals of domains only cost about $10.00 MAX. They wanted $250 in USD!

I re-registered it about 8 days ago, with no problems. I didn't have to pay any money to Melbourne IT, and I did it through namecheap.com.

This means that I got my domain back before anyone else in the world could. electricimpulse is a very popular name, especially by doctors and people working with electronics. I don't know what the value is of this domain yet, but I do know that it's getting very popular, and it's worth more than what I payed for it.

In light of getting everything back, I started working on a fresh-new basic site, that I've actually come to like a lot because of it's old-style look. http://www.electricimpulse.net

I know this doesn't matter much to you guys, but I figured I'd share the good news! I am happy.

It wasn't what they did, it was the fact that I've really enjoyed having that domain, and it was almost lost forever.

Yes, and I counted every day. Believe it or not.. it was available for registration a couple days before, which was kind of scary.
I've just decided to turn it into something personal. It's nice to have a little piece of the internet to show other people stuff, or to even share things with them without having to use F*CKING fileshack, or some other shitty ad-infested shithole service.

I was wondering wth happened to it. I went there some time ago and it didnt exist so I deleted it out of my favs... I actually have a site name, rather a company name, that if I ever get to start my own company I'm gonna name it and grab all the related domains. I'm going to change the world!!

I wouldn't go far enough to say the BIGGEST, but we definnatly are the most in depth and loyal community

I'm pretty sure it is the biggest (this isn't including any websites that are dedicated to modding or cheating, but strictly playing) . At some point or another, over half the people registered on these forums applied for n00b or were/are n00b members. We've been around for a very long time, and I've seen or heard of no other community like ours. It takes really smart people to run a community like n00bfest, and some of you don't know half the stuff the Ancients, Elders, or HNIC do behind closed doors, but I can tell you that sometimes it feels like a job. However, the end result is always happiness in our community and makes it feel everything but a job.

If you can prove me wrong, I'd like to see someone do it.

With the amount of donations we get, Gman prob. could just quit his job and do this. (Though $50-$100 a month is kinda bad...)

No. This is a prime example of what I was saying. It takes a lot of money to run this community. If Gman wants to tell you just SOME of the expenses we pay, I'll let him do it. Trust me though, everyone who has donated has played a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE part in keeping this community alive. Without you guys, n00bfest would not exist. We can't really stress that enough.
