 Re: DVR The Pacific
It is good, but I still like Band of Brothers better so far but this has much potential.

I was going to make a post about this but you beat me too it. I got a torrent of the first episode last night and watched it today. GOD DAMN THIS IS GOING TO BE GOOD. This will probably be better then BoB but BoB is still #1 in my top 10 all time anything ive watched.

 Re: DVR The Pacific
The full episodes are on HBO's website streaming... no commercials. I watched it in 1080 and I must say: this show looks extremely promising. First episode was great.

 Re: DVR The Pacific
i just finshed watching bob in full for the first time last week, BoB was amazing, but hte pacific will blow it away mainly because of the difference in warfronts. that first episode was awesome because its clear theyre going to show a lot of the true japanese fighting style including grenade suicides, which is going to make for lovely surprise bangs every episode

 Re: DVR The Pacific
John Basilone Iwo Jima. On February 19, 1945 he was serving as a machine-gun section leader in action against Japanese forces on Red Beach II. During the battle, the Japanese concentrated their fire at the incoming American troops from heavily fortified blockhouses staged throughout the island. With his unit pinned down, Basilone made his way around the side of the Japanese positions until he was directly on top of the blockhouse. He then attacked with grenades and demolitions, single handedly destroying the entire hostile strong point and its defending garrison. He then fought his way over toward Airfield Number 1 and later aided a friendly tank which was trapped in an enemy mine field under intense mortar and artillery barrages. He guided the heavy vehicle over the hazardous terrain to safety, despite heavy weapons fire from the Japanese forces. As he moved along the edge of the airfield, an exploding mortar shell instantly killed him.
John Motherfucking Basilone. now THATS away to go out.
