hey, any1 knows where are the css sounds, i can't find them at all in any folder (and no it's not in the "Sound" folder)

Like is there a folder that contains every css sounds or do i really have to pick the weapon sounds in the weapon folder, the environment sounds in another folder, etc...?

yes, that's why modding your cs sounds is a HUGE pain in the ass.

Funny Story... Atleast I think.

I was at a LAN party and we were all playing CS. My friend had change the AWP sound on my computer (Since I had everything shared) without me knowing. We load up a game and start playing. I can not find him for the life of me. Eventually he popped up right behind me and blasted away with the AWP. And to my complete and utter surprise it was his voice going "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" right in my headphones. It was F*CKING hilarious!

But no Lecoq. I don't know how to change sounds.

i dont want to mod the sounds, i just remember back in the time when i first played half-life, i could find the .wav files somewhere in my folders, but now its like F*CKING messed up, i just want to import them in a video without having to record them with a shitty quality

did you try unhiding folders then searching for cs sounds? if you can find one that way you can trace the folder path...

i really dont understand how u missed these sounds, but good job frenchie.

are u using 32-bit or 64-bit??

for a 32-bit os:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<YOUR USERNAME>\counter-strike source\cstrike\sound\weapons

for a 64-bit os:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<YOUR USERNAME>\counter-strike source\cstrike\sound\weapons

again, good job on failing to find the sounds, i got them in a matter of seconds.

rexxer you're a HOMOSEXUAL, i wouldn't post here if i wouldnt have a F*CKING problem finding them, i just dont have the "weapon" folder, thats why i dont understand where they are since i got every damn sounds ingame, but they're nowhere in my sound folder

did u look in the folder i posted, cause that is where they are supposed to be. if not, try going to steam games, right clicking on css and clicking properties and click verify, u could also try deleting ClientRegistry.blob and restarting steam, see if that works (u might need to join a server, or at least open css, idk for sure about that tho, try it). if none of that works, goto the steam forums or support page and see if there is info there.

nah it didnt work... i think i'll just reinstall css cuz theres no weapon folder where there should be 1... idk what's wrong with it... i dont have the sound files, but i have sounds ingame, that's fucked up, thx for the help though

so your weapons make sounds in game? didn't you just say your friend was blasting with the awp and you couldn't hear it? maybe he just deleted your weapons sounds folder. maybe have someone send you the files to copy to your directory before you reinstall?

no unlisted talked about the awp sound missing, in my case, every sound works ingame, but they are just missing in every steam folders... that's F*CKING weird
