Re: Went to browse at my local mini walmart and ended up...
haha well actually it's like a mini walmart. we have them up here in the pac NW, called Bi Mart.
But yeah in Oregon the Wal Marts sell rifles also.
You can get handgun & rifle ammo just about anywhere.

Wal-marts here in ND sell ammo and I think a few rifles, but in MN they seem to sell a wider array of rifles.

Yeah, a couple years back, the Walmarts in Connecticut stopped selling guns, but they still sell ammo.

hm... thats why the US is so much better than canadia lol.. i hate our gun laws like no other Your an idiot! In Canada no idiot can just run out and buy a gun but if you have a purpose for it (ie. hunting, competition shooting) and are serious then the government red tape is nothing to go through to buy one. Our gun laws let responsible people own the guns and not the Fucktards that would kill there neighbor through a wall because they were to stupid to check if it was loaded. Have you not noticed the sheer lack of school and workplace shootings we have here? The time it takes to get a weapon most crazies have either given up or calmed down. I love our gun laws, our society is much safer becasue of them.

Not one single school shooting that I've ever heard of dealt with the student buying the gun at all (high school shootings) or buying recently (college shootings). So tell me, how do your gun laws prevent people from buying guns and using them in a shooting much later? How do your gun laws prevent children from taking them from their parents? More importantly, how do your gun laws prevent criminals from obtaining guns? CPTReynolds wrote: Our gun laws let responsible people own the guns and not the Fucktards that would kill there neighbor through a wall because they were to stupid to check if it was loaded. So theres an aptitude test? (No, theres not) CPTReynolds wrote: The time it takes to get a weapon most crazies have either given up or calmed down. This was a Federal law for a while, but it stopped when the US got a standardized computerized background check system. Many US states still have similar waiting periods though. --- Can you really attribute a "safer" society to the gun laws? I don't think thats possible. Its true that Canada has less than 1/2 the homicide rate of the US but they have very similar "crimes of violence" rates and the property crime rate in Canada is higher. I'm not saying the US is better in the rates, they're clearly not -- but can you attribute the better Canadian numbers to these gun laws? Thats like me saying that the laws that help foster small business and entrepreneurialism in the US has helped us obtain a lower property crime stat. Gun laws in general rarely work as intended, the people who want to use guns illegally still will, and it only makes it harder for law abiding citizens to purchase arms for sport, leisure or self protection. Blindly putting trust into gun laws seems shortsighted to me -- thats all I'm saying

this... because that just summed up everything for me, excetp the double face palm i did CPTReynolds wrote: Your an idiot!

Have you not noticed the sheer lack of school and workplace shootings we have here? The time it takes to get a weapon most crazies have either given up or calmed down. I love our gun laws, our society is much safer becasue of them. ill keep this short, since i dont feel like writing a 19 page research paper on how wrong you are lol. (if you wanna continue feel free to go to pm's) first, stop brown nosing media outlets, put down the newspaper and turn off your tv and go do some solid number crunching on everything. its clear you've taken the media high road of believing theres an amazement of workplace shootings and shcool shootings, when in reality there really isnt much of either going around period, in either the US or canada. second, strict guns laws does not equal less crazies with guns and more responsible people. hate to bust your cute little bubble but if someone wants a gun theyll get it. Also as has been poorly portrayed over the years, access to guns doesnt mean more gun related incidents. that was disproved about a decade ago. the difference in incidents in canada and the us has nothing to do with guns, access to or lack there of, moreover it has to do with the enculturation process in either country adn the differences that exist in both, plus the differences in economical structure. lastly.. about these amazing laws we have and how it keeps guns in responsible owners hands.... getting the acquisition license, no problem i agree. having to apply for a transprotation licence everytime you wanna move it to and from the range, thats kind of hte larger issue. yes you can get a long term permit but its still specifically timed and dated. and the most amazing part about all this is, your gun must at all times, be kept in a safe box with a trigger lock on it, which means when you become a victim of a home invasion or anyhting along those lines, you need enough time to unlock your case, then unlock the trigger lock before being able to do anything. l o o l. And to top off this lovely paragraph, i know a guy who was one day sitting at home cleanign his gun, trigger lock off of course. this guy had zero problems with the cops no malintent or anything just enjoying his night. fire breaks out next door, cops come knocking on his door to tell him to get out, and they find his gun that he was in the process of cleaning unlocked and everything. now hes permabanned from possession or usage.

Re: Went to browse at my local mini walmart and ended up...
oh and fom....
you forgot to take into account the differntial size of the US vs canada with regards to rates of crime lol you guys are 10x the size of us and really were sitll at the same rate of crime which is hovering around if my memory serves me is 5-10% with 1% violent crime.
