Post Question for the techy's
I am currently running windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit. I'm preparing to go to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, but I have a quick question.

First, I have my drives setup as follows:
C:/ is for my OS, drivers and programs
D:/ is for movies, music, games, basically anything one would want to save during a reformat.

When I went from XP to 7 it would not read my D:/ drive data because 7 read it differently I guess and I had to format the drive and start from scratch losing EVERYTHING on D:/ which was a total bummer. What I'm trying to ask is, will it do the same switching from 32-bit to 64-bit?

P.S. I would just back it all up on my external but the cops have it for evidence because some nig stole the stereo I put in murk's car (Amp, Head unit and my external drive, speakers were too big for his scrawny ass). They caught him like 10 feet away, so we still get the shit back....eventually.

No it won't unless you tell it to -- but to be extra careful I would just unplug it until upgrading is done.

Hmm that's odd. Windows 7 should read the data in your D: drive fine even it is using fat16. It's more likely that there was some other issue with that partition.

Ya that is super weird about the transition from xp to 7, i don't really know why it would have made you do that. Was it during the install? or during the first boot up?

Yeah it should work fine. There mustve been something wrong with the drive before. But as always backups are not a bad idea.
