I need a bit of help from fellow texans.....
Im moving into my new place tomorrow and have a bit of a dilema, Im having a hard time deciding who to go with for my ISP. Unfortunately U-verse is not available and neither is comcast or verizon Fios. Im frikken pissed because I hate being force to use services I do not like at all. If I want to pay 100+ for Fios, it should be available and not being blocked due to local companies fear of competition. Anyhow, since I have been out the states for a while, I was hoping someone from around here could help with some input.

dude, all i can say is we use at&t at my work and i have so many issues with their shit all the time. everytime the router is reset you have to pull up a browser and enter your username and pw a couple times. the only good thing is their security precautions are thorough, other than that, F*CK em.

I'd go Roadrunner and I'm not in Texas, I just have the feeling that At&t would just become a hassle later down the road.

I pay for 7mbps with time warner and I get like 18mbps. It's legit.

It all depends on what region your moving too, condition of that region's lines etc. etc. etc.
I've heard horror stories from both sides, but the better seems to be time warner. I'd say go with them. Decent prices, great speeds/service.
Sometimes you do get aids from them though. Just sayin'.

Yeah dude, had RR back in austin and it rocked. Service was purty damn good as well. Up here in plano now, I went with verizon fios over RR, simply becuase I like 25down/25up :P
RR has that speedboost, which actually does do nice every now and then :P
imo, cable > dsl

Have you ever thought that maybe by some chance the provider of where you're moving into has the sole rights to provide voice video and data to the site for 1+ years before the complex has the ability to even ALLOW another provider to come in? Because thats the way it works most of the time. Your 100 dollars a month for a fiber to the home doesn't equal their spending costs of the ISP to put fiber in the ground for a few miles and then bore under the road if necessary or pay for a contractor to put the fiber up on the poles. F*CK you the individual douche customer who wants your fiber to the home. Get educated before you throw a bitch fit, it makes you look like a woman.

Well kano has a point here, usually ISP´s have a contract with the company that made the construction of a housing complex, they invested on the ditching for underground wiring and such, and it really sucks because when you buy your home from those companies you have to suck it up like a champ when it comes to the triple play services. That is why i think twice before i buy a home that was constructed in a huge housing complex.
I could give you tips regarding your ISP here at Mexico LOL, but then again if you had a house in one of those privaticed complex then youre pretty much screwed, with this being said this posts is rendered useless and its just a I AM A HOMOSEXUAL post.
