You are expecting people to assume something without actually saying it. Even though I would have never thought he used XP, I already knew he used Vista. You guys are dumb to even argue about that crap.

DX11 was just an example of the many things that were worth upgrading to, like XP compat mode. There are actually many, many other things that make it worthwhile.

Furthermore, how many of you saying you've never had problems with Vista/whatever, are actually running x64bit OS's? The thread is about compatibility with x64bit processors, and why Windows 7 is better for compatibility than Vista.

And your thread is dumb as well, its obvious that windows 7 is better than any past O.S., its like if you made a thread about an aston martin comparing it to a F*CKING beetle from volkswagen, OF COURSE ITS BETTER!!!, there is absolutely no need for this thread. At the moment i dont need a v8/v6 motor car, i dont need automatic transmition, i dont need leather seats, etc. all i need i have it with my beetle it server its purpose it takes me from point a to b and at the moment it hasnt given me problems period (talking carwise).

The bug mentioned here happens to me many times, but specifically with firefox. Randomly (maybe like 5% of the time) when I open firefox and try to close it, the close (red x) button will just keep blinking at which point you can't minimize, close, maximize or click on anything inside the firefox window. The link's problem recreation only shows the graphical glitch, not the problem of not being able to do anything with the window.

Win 7 is what Vista should have been, i don't think people will let Microsoft live it down for a while. as for the desktop, personal preference is Linux ( Debian anything), less viruses and faster response time to anything i need to do, plus awesome for development, plus to get around those pesky work filters i have a proxy sitting on it, not saying that you can't do that with Win 7, but i prefer not to expose the Win machines to the internet for a long time.
