I am going to be purchasing a new headset seeing as the tritton headset i have broke and tritton tech support sucks ass. my price range is up to $200 (hopefully much less tho), any suggestions. I dont like the mics that have that fuzzy ball on them (yes, make jokes, lol). I dont need the best sound quality cause my ears suck as it is, but they need to be comfortable for long hours of gaming.

::EDIT:: also, if u have a headset u are recommending, let me know if i can where it with 1 ear piece moved off of my ear, cause i often watch tv while gaming, and would like to be able to hear both.

I know Tritton has shitty service but you know it only took me a week to get my RMA and have it sent in to get fixed...

The most comfortable, affordable headphones (I doubt there's such a thing as a comfortable headset) I've ever tried is the Sennheiser HD550.

So long as you're not senseless the seperate mic won't be an issue the USB soundcard helps a ton for setting everything up if you'res sucks

The retractable mic IVe heard has issues but they're good headsets all around

I almost bought these on Tuesday because my fill-in pair ($20) got busted and was just about ready to commit. I haven't figured out if you MUST buy the mixamp with it or you can do without. The mixamp does allow you to use it on xbox/ps2 though.

It also looks like these were out about 2007?? as well. So i was curious to ensure a updated one, maybe 7.1 channel, wasn't coming out soon.

I'll definitely consider some of these other ones posted here as well now though.

I have the Sennheiser 555 and I love them but their not so great for gaming. I can't tell where everyone is anymore. I had an old pair of plantronics that made me a hacker at CS years ago. I knew exactly where everyone was and I mean exactly.

Plantronics is a great company that makes solid products. Always go with a good company rather than something that claims to be the best or the shiniest.

After hearing so many good things about Plantronics its making me swift my opinion, I always saw them as a random brand on Newegg but I am starting to realize they are much more.

Personally I am still a Sennheiser Fan boy, I do currently own a pair of Tritton AXPC Pros but they're more of a hassle than a treat, USB is a bad desion to do headphones in. I am really just waiting for them to break down to go headphones shopping and get a quality pair.

If I was you, and went Sennheiser, I'd go for a open back type in contrast to the solid backs as the open end [from what I have read] tends to give a more surround feeling but though it tends to want to lack in base (compared to the solid backs).

g35 is the poop i like mine. Only thing I don't like is I cannot use them with the PS3 but other than that they are awesome.

no, the g35 looks cool, EXCEPT for the fact that the buttons are on the headset, wtf is up with that. that is waay too annoying for me. lol

i would recommend the full size siberia v2 (retractable mic) over the v1 that snuggle posted. i tried v1 for a few days and they were VERY comfortable. sound quality was pretty good. i have the neckband and the sound quality is even better than the full size v1, but i do have an issue with them slipping down my tiny head. i have to wear a hat, beanie, or bandana to keep them up, which doesn't bother me at all. aside from that they are comfy and the mic works great.
