Im curious about getting into the sport, any tips? I was watching this video and wanted the AKS74U, but its $1,500.00. So I decided to start checking into a AFC gas powered SCAR instead. Also, which is better, Red or Green gas?

I too have been thinking about possibly getting a Airsoft gun for when im not paintballing or messin with cars, Im looking at a AGM M4A1 Full Metal Gas blowback, shits sick and cheap

Yah i do paintball during summer time, non of that woodsball crap though, i do the Xball fields n shit, way competitive n shit, like you see on television

Yeah woodsball sucks ass. I ref'd paintball for 2 summers and got asked to be on a couple of teams, but never got too competitive. Just like in CS, I was the guy to rush the middle side bunkers.

I played Airsoft with some co-workers not long ago.

The thing that ruined it for me were the adults who refused to admit they'd been hit, or they would light you up in return and claim they didn't feel the bb's through their padding. Yea, i shit you not, people were there in full SWAT or Army Ranger gear.

I hate cheaters with a passion, and the fact that adults do it to such an extreme is absolutely ridiculous. My last match i almost laid a F*CKER out, took everything i had not to lay him out as i walked by after he shot me about 10 times.

Coolest thing about it was its realism for the weapons and how they shoot. They limit the speed though because they can break skin with some of these modeled guns. I recommend getting the tracer rounds mixed in with your normal bb's. Helps with the long distance fire fights.

Recently the guys i went with went to some all day event with like 400 people or something up around DC/Baltimore. Said they had a blast but i think personally i'd prefer paintball, to cut down on the cheating assholes.

Cheaters are rife in paintball too, which is why after a bit I'd only play reffed pickup games. Woodsball with friends and friends of friends always turned out one or two complete C*CK who would cheat/wipe, bonus ball, jack up their velocity, etc.

Airsoft is a wee bit scary to me due to the hardcore milsim freaks who take it way too seriously, at least around my neck of the woods. Paintball had a few, but I suspect they all went over to airsoft when it blew up. I want a chess match position-wise, with hand-eye coordination, and athleticism. I don't want to pretend that I'm shooting people in real life. That's probably why x-ball paintball and other speedball games are most attractive to me. Essentially tag with some strategy, teamwork, & hand/eye thrown in.

Yah i agree with the cheating part, But you know its alot harder to cheat in paintball rather than airsoft. Paintball its either obvious you have been hit or there is fresh paint somewhere on your body
