It was probably one of the worst $209 investments I've ever made. I find it is extremely hard to play video games with a giant dick in your ass.

1) Based on your subject line, I fully expect Kano to voice his opinion.
2) Keyboards are like C*CK. Everyone has one, and some people have several. It's all based on what you like best. Me, I prefer my microsoft split ergo keyboards. Others think that tiny LCD screens make them better gamers, so they spring for hugely expensive ones.
Based on all of that, you should go try out a bunch of keyboards and see which ones feel best to you-- after all you'll be spending hours and hours using one.

 Re: I'm in the market......
Get a Saitek Eclipse.
Cheap, reliable, and the keys light up for nighttime gaming.
The only con is that it only has 3 multimedia keys, volume up/down and mute.
I still love mine though.

I still love mine though. I personally endorse this one, I used the keyboard for about 3 years until I moved out, if I didn't, I'd still be running it. I ran specifcally though the Eclipse II.

 Re: I'm in the market......
i have the g15 (first gen) and it's pretty sweet. but i barely use the extra keys. probably because of the way you have to bind them for use in game; it's not the same and binding a normal key. they can be useful outside of games for shortcuts to programs and such though. what i like best is being able to monitor CPU and RAM usage on the LCD (also can display media info, clock, email notices, etc.). i hate it when my pc is slow and i can't tell what it is doing.

obe, that's a pretty interesting keyboard concept. do you use the pad on the left for cs?

 Re: I'm in the market......
same here with the first and second gen G15's. sturdy, reliable, backlit, and has that lcd with applets that are actually quite useful, like the ventrilo one. 18 macros on the second gen, and i think 35+ on the first gen. though not ALL the macros are completely programmable for each game (most of them must support it), the second gen software has released a version that allows you to bind more than just one keystroke to the entire macro. dont forget the fact the some keyboards dont allow simultaneous keystrokes to be pressed (sometimes over 3 at the same time). this might be an issue for you. the g15 also has two USB 2.0 ports on the back of the keyboard, as well as music controls, mute button, joystick switch, and ability to change the backlight brightness, or turn it off completely.
