Hell, jobs that generally require nothing more than an associate's degree don't make anyone smart either. When I was still in high school they separated us in to "College Preparatory" and "Technical Preparatory" which was really just so the dumbasses who would spend the rest of their lives welding, janitoring, farming, woodsmithing, fixing cars, fixing computers, and every other non-intellect intensive job out there could feel better about themselves.

I know several reactor operators and most of them aren't necessarily that intelligent, they just know the formulas and shit. Most don't have the basic street smarts of a 15 yr old.
