I love my ninja. You get a decent amount of power on the low end. In higher gears though, you don't get much of anything.
I wouldn't say it's garbage, I love it. By far one of the best starter bikes out there.
I recommend the Ninja for a first bike. However. If you're confident and not an idiot, I wouldn't recommened starting on a 250. (Really wants a ZX6R or ZX7R bad.)
But if you're skeptical about it and don't think you'll be a serious rider, then grab the 250 Ninja. It'll definitely turn you into a serious rider.
DO NOT get a 250 cruiser. They are a waste of money and sweaty balls.
