Seriously though, I found another player on the pro server who was doing the same stuff, in the same style (he logged off just before the speed hacker went nuts). I switched to spec, started recording demo, and announced it a few times while the player was still alive.

However, within 1 round or so, he started sucking, badly. He went from amazing scores of like 12 and 2, to even or worse. His movement was completely different. Other than being tipped off by another dead player, is there any way a living player, mid-round, can see spec chat?

Steam has multiple .dem players available.

I just use source for all of my demos.
Easy and hassle free.

The Complexity demo player is the best one currently.

It says 1.6 but it supports everything. It also has a few nifty tools I use from time to time. And you don't have to have the .dem file in any specific folder, just double-click and it will do the rest.
