We attended a self defense course put on by our local boys in blue. One of my officers had a personal grudge against me and requested that I spar with him. He is a 2nd black belt in Ishin Ryu and was inducted into some type of karate hall of fame. I decided to let him make an attempt to attack me. I grabbed a hold of him and threw his ass on the ground, laid on him and made him beg for me to get up. The instructor told us that I showed the best defense when confronted with a person who knows their way around a ring. I'm not claiming to be a bad ass as much as a fat ass. I have been up against a few people who claim to be karate masters and I generally laugh and tackle them to the ground. In the last 8 years I have been there I have only been hit once, and it was by a handicapped person that I let my guard down on. I feel bad for the downs kids and I let them hit me from time to time. Just use your size, keep all that karate crap for someone who wants to fight. I don't fight, I just stop people from fighting.

Word dude, my Muay Thai background really wouldn't help me at all besides unless somebody wanted to actually fight me, than i would smoosh but, the BJJ on the other hand would be handy for taking someone down. And being a BIG person really just automatically wins when just having to take down someone in your case.

Im doing Midnight to 8am shift, Wooo Graveyard haha. Im excited though because my friends friends are all into MMA lol so we will have shit locked down when it comes to us having to remove someone if we have to.

If i ever ended up doing club work i would most likely just be doing the Bar like i did in Australia, shit was way fun. But also security would just be sooo much fun as well

Should be fun bro. I saw some pretty epic shit last year on black friday when I was working security lol (don't anymore). I'm sure you'll have plenty of lol's but you gotta watch yourself. I boxed for 2 years before starting security (not really practical for security/bouncing purposes tho)
