Online virus scanners aren't picking up this keylogger
So I have a keylogger on my computer. We think it's from some site my friend visited because whoever made the thing went immediately for my WoW Acct and tried to change the email address for my acct. I have nothing to do with WoW for over 2 years and he still plays ad was visiting some WoW related sites when he was visiting. I've run 3 different online scans on my computer and none of them are picking this thing up.
What it does:
When I try to access certain sites the page won't open and a popup asks if I want to open login.xml, I cancel and cannot get to the page.
What the frak can I do?

Backup everything important (Music, movies, doc's, pics etc.) onto a mini 320GB WD or something and reformat. It never fails
I dont even bother going to war with virus's or adware...ever.

Re: Online virus scanners aren't picking up this keylogger
The latest I used was AVG and I'll try Microsoft's free scanner next. All the scanners are picking up are key generators from PS plugins.
I did try googling keyloggers and wow keylogging but my searches came up empty for recent information.
I have no idea what virus this is because nothing is picking it up but it's there because I still can't access certain sites ( WOW.com, battlenet ) without the login.xml popup showing up and blocking me from access.
My WoW acct got cleaned out yesterday, not that I care too much.
I'll try Kaspersky right now and see what happens.
Thanks guys.
PS WoW is so F*CKING gay....

malwarebytes' anti malware, spybot search & destroy. those are the two i use. the problem ur having is that anti-virus programs wont pick up keyloggers because a keylogger is technically not a virus, its under the category of spy-ware. try any of the freeware ones from the following website, they might help. http://www.filehippo.com/software/antispyware/

Re: Online virus scanners aren't picking up this keylogger
yea, i think it's time to wipe the drives. I've never wiped these ones yet, this just isnt the most oppurtune time to do so.
I've already instituted the F*CK WoW Rule for my computer which pretty much bans anyone (this means you Gridiron) from using my computer unless we've had sexual relations and/or are blood related.
Cool thing is WoW recognized my acct as being hijacked and has locked it down automatically for me even though I'll probably never play again it's just nice to know my $15 a month might have been put to good use.
Just realized some F*CKIN niglet changed my email password, I automatically log in so I didn't even notice until now. DAMMIT I HATE CHINESE FARMERS!!

Re: Online virus scanners aren't picking up this keylogger
i'll take a look at dariks and see what the difference is. I've never used a 3rd party prog to wipe my drives.
