We're currently looking at switching to a different server company that's located in an area with a much better backbone internet connection. It MAY lower our operating costs a bit, but we're going to have to pay double for one month at first -- this will allow us time to get the new server configured and running while we still have the main server up. Hopefully, the new box will be rockin' and stable, and we'll be able to run multiple gameservers on it off the bat.
This means you have a few things to look forward to, if we can afford it:
- 32 man 66tic CSS server that stays up and running - 16-20 man "elite" server with a cal/cpl/cevo rotation with all weapons enabled - free private scrim servers (will probably have two of them for source and one for CZ or 1.6) - CoD MW2 server - Any other gameserver you guys want
Let's make that bar blue!

I'm not too sure if you saw my thread, but I was planning on to rent a server for us when CoD MW2 comes out.

 Re: Donations
i wonder how many people here play tf2 or dod source?
and how hard would it be to switch a server over to a dif game? say if we had like n00b game nights, we would all pick a day and a mod and load a server up. we could see which game draws the most traffic and make it possibly perm

 Re: Donations
I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's a dedicated box. We can run whatever we want off of it. We don't have to "ask" anyone to change it. We just go in, install the game, configure the server, and shazaam!

 Re: Donations
this sounds SICK! i plan on getting COD:MW2 either when it comes out, or soon thereafter. I know the road to hell is paved with good intentions, but i TOTALLY would be donating if i didn't just have to buy a new monitor.

 Re: Donations
Just wonder, would changing the server significantly reduce the number of new people we see on the server? Didn't we tried a server migration a some time ago and it virtually killed the non-n00b traffic for a while.

I want to pay a double-month so we can spend a week or so getting the server installed/configured, and then spend three weeks reducing the size of the main server and pushing more and more traffic over to the new server. I want to try to mitigate as much of the "leakage" of old patrons as possible.

The server is going to cost us about $150-$200 EXTRA for the first month, depending on what sort of specs we go with. So... anywhere between $450-500 this month would mean we could probably get started early next month.
