 Comcast to buy Time Warner
I used to laugh and scoff at the people who would complain about Comcast and that it was their only option. Looks like the jokes on me now. http://www.businessinsider.com/comcast- ... ble-2014-2http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/02/13/ ... blogs&_r=0I find this ironic just after the net neutrality decision and the comment that cable provider competition is thriving.

Re: Comcast to buy Time Warner
Oh, yay! One shitty cable company buys another shitty cable company! That just means they can jack up the prices as much as possible and you won't be able to do anything about it.

Re: Comcast to buy Time Warner
I'm going to stick with my mediocre 10mbs DSL line from the regional telephone company forever.

Re: Comcast to buy Time Warner
I hate time warner cable. I've had them for years and the service has always been awful. They use the worst quality modems and routers and rarely install things correctly on their first try. Unfortunately they're the ONLY internet provider in my area and I have no choice other than to deal with it.

That's what I hate: they monopolize it. When I lived up in WA, the ONLY provider was Comcast (unless you wanted to get a satellite dish, but it wasn't allowed in military housing if I recall right). There needs to be options, period.

I moved from an area where i had multiple choices for high speed internet to an area where i can only get TWC due to my apt owner and TWC sucks. I have had Comcast in the past and they were cheaper and faster than the TWC connection i have now. If i had a choice between the two now I would pick Comcast. Personally I cant wait for Google to have their expanded network in the next 5 yrs. There plans/press release stated they are targeting getting into major cities and will rapidly expand over the next 5 years.

Re: Comcast to buy Time Warner
I would do it, I've had it for almost 2 years. Can't imagine going back to regular cable internet. I absolutely love it.

Re: Comcast to buy Time Warner
I hate this shit and the net neutrality decision was bullshit... The FCC needs to rewrite their rules and definitions... I have Verizon Fios but the dumb shit is that there is some kind of cable war going on in my area and a judge said 'F*CK it, no one can provide cable in the area' so we can't get Verizon cable or Comcast... I have to get DirectTV and they were really cool cause when I moved from WV I called them up told them I was having a baby and they found me a ton of discounts and brought my bill down to 19.99 / month but now their all running out and the bill is getting huge... might have to rely on netflix/amazon for awhile...

Vision, can't you go with Verizon for your cable as well?

I did this until they went "Nope, we're discontinuing DSL now, but we will give you our Cable at the same price!" I wish they hadn't, Cable goes down randomly sometimes, DSL did not. Also Comcast and Time Warner have been in a fight for who's the shittier company for a while, so I suppose it's only natural for them to merge into one gigantic pile of shit.
