Snuggle - A terrorist is someone who commits an act of Terrorism... as in a bombing. I think you either misunderstood or are just talking because I heard several times stated "WE DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS A FOREIGN OR DOMESTIC ATTACK"

A terrorist is a foreign combatant with no flag allegiance who commits a criminal act in a foreign land with the sole goal of inciting fear and panic as well as dirupting the everyday flow of life as we know it.

A criminal is a person who commits a crime such as murder by whatever means they desire (including bombings) but their intention is not to instill fear, it is instead the result of emotional instability or misguided morals

Not all criminals are terrorists but all terrorists are criminals

Pre 9/11 a bombing was just that, a bombing. Post 9/11 regardless of who does it or why everything has now become an act of terrorism and they are exclaimed terrorists. Despite what most everyday people think there is a difference between labelling something an act or terrorism vs a criminal act and it often instills a lot more panic if it is labeled as an act of terrorism vs a criminal act.

Remember timothy mcveigh was not called the oklahoma city terrorist he was called the oklahoma city bomber and he was labelled an unstable criminal. And the '96 atlanta games incident wasnt written as an act of terrorism it was labelled a criminal act of bombing and a mass murder despite whats currently written on wikipedia lol. Your country and its mass media have gotten so used to saying terrorism or terrorist theyve confused the notion with that of a criminal. Which is why ive said that statement. You dont notice this as much since you live within the culture of "terrorism" and the constant fear it brings. Whereas when youre outside of the U.S. you gain a lot of perspective.

I don't think it really matters what the opinions are here as far as what everyone thinks terrorism is. There is no internationally accepted definition of terrorism, so there's no point in turning a thread about a real tragedy into a debate that neither side can win.

One guy dead, one guy got away from that gunfight - "apparently" brothers from Chechnya, according to one source that everyone else is reporting off of. Don't know what happened because around 2AM while I was at work, I saw a report that one was in custody, one got away, then an hour or two later, saw a report that one was dead, one was on the run. So...speculation begins as to how the one died. Never F*CK with Boston??

EDIT: Oh yeah - forgot the part where the shootout began because these two idiots didn't have the funds to get out of the area, so they robbed a 7-11, ran to MIT, carjacked someone then shot a campus security guy while he was trying to stop the carjacking. And they had a bunch of grenades and shit on em too.

I'm just hoping he doesn't act like a caged animal and lash out even worse when they get close. To me, it's somewhat obvious this young guy wasn't the brains behind all of this, so what's he going to do now that's he's alone and he knows his brother is dead??

i feel like they are both mentally ill, not just like duh they are stupid, but like have really bad psychological disorders or something , seems to be a common thing among all of these tragic situations
