If you do, you should definitely like the music from it. I know, personally, that I grew up playing FFVII and simply adoring the music. Nobuo Uematsu is a musical genius. Recently, there was a concerted musical effort that spanned many genres and artists: about 60+ different artists came together to create a 65 track, multi-album piece called "Voices of the Lifestream," where each song from the OST of FFVII was remixed to a new style and recorded in hi-def. Genres are all over the place: rock, metal, jazz, hiphop, trance, house, classical, orchestral, etc.

IT IS F*CKING AMAZING. And its free to download. All of it.

Personally I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy series. My aunt actually preform in the Distant Worlds Omaha concert. She's a violinist in the Omaha Symphony. I was looking forward to going to see that show but it didn't work out for me and the wife at the time they played it.

I don't think he's composed from any movies, but Nobuo has composed for a ton of RPG games. I've had his work in one of my playlists for a while; he's a genius.
